Players' addons saw Neal Allen's thrown weapons drop to a few copper

Two players' ForeverDB addons saw the vendor Neal Allen selling four thrown weapons for far less than the beta client lists, on 9 October. Blizzard hasn't announced it.

Player reports, not confirmed by Blizzard. These prices are what two players' ForeverDB addons saw in game on 9 October (two uploads), not datamined client data and not a Blizzard post. We're noting them here because the drop is large and easy to spot.

The ForeverDB addon records the prices players see on vendors in game and sends them to us. On 9 October it reported that the vendor Neal Allen was selling four thrown weapons for a fraction of the price the Forever beta client lists. Two players saw it, one of them signed in to an account.

What players' addons saw

These are thrown weapons for the ranged slot: the Knife and Axe need level 11, the Dagger and the Deadly Axe level 22. The drop is steep. At 68 copper the Keen Throwing Knife would cost less than you get for selling one back to a vendor (its sell price in the client is 3s 66c), and the Heavy Throwing Dagger would fall from about 76 silver to under 2 silver.

What the client still lists

In the beta client's files these four items still carry their old, higher values, which is why the "was" prices above match the client. If the lower prices are live in game, that points to a server-side change rather than a new client build, because the game files can't show vendor buy changes made on Blizzard's servers.

Speculation. Why the prices dropped, whether it was a deliberate hotfix, a test or a bug, and whether it is still in effect, we can't tell from the client. Blizzard hasn't mentioned it in any post we track.

We'll update this page if a Blizzard post or a new build confirms the change. More vendor prices players' addons have seen are on the item pages linked above.
