Windshaper Skyborne Shaman: your first 10 levels
Updated · ForeverDB
A gentle start for a Windshaper Skyborne Shaman in WoW Forever: where your trainer stands in Thendal Village, your spells up to level 10, your class quests, the racials that help and the best professions.
Written for the WoW Forever beta, for your first 10 levels. Where each person stands comes from what players recorded in WoW Forever wherever we have it. Anything else is marked: "Classic data" means the spot comes from the original game and may have moved in Forever.
Right now
Welcome! You're a Windshaper Skyborne Shaman, and you start in Thendal Village. Here are the three things you need first. Take your time: nothing here is in a rush.
- You appear at 42.8, 23.4 in Thendal Village.
- Your first quest: talk to Ailee Farheart (42.8, 23.4), next to where you appear.
- Your Shaman trainer is Windshaper Boro. Players' game data has their name, but nobody has mapped where they stand yet. Our best guess is near Tai'ree Farsight; a guard can point you there too.
Tip: If you die, that's fine: everyone does. Click Release Spirit, run back to your body as a ghost, and carry on. Fight one enemy at a time and eat or drink between fights.
Playing a Shaman at first
You call on the elements. You fight up close or cast lightning, you can heal, and later you place totems that help you. You use mana.
- Start a fight with Lightning Bolt from a distance.
- Then hit up close with Rockbiter Weapon on your weapon.
- Heal yourself with Healing Wave when your health gets low.
Tip: From level 4, Earth Shock is a quick hit that also stops an enemy's spell.
Tip: Your first totem comes from a class quest. Do it when it's offered: totems help a lot.
Your spells up to level 10
You start with your level 1 spells. The rest you learn from your trainer, for a few coins, at levels 4, 6, 8, 10. A few come from class quests instead. From the WoW Forever game client:
| Level | Spell | Learned from |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Healing Wave (Rank 1) | Trainer |
| 1 | Lightning Bolt (Rank 1) | Trainer |
| 1 | Rockbiter Weapon (Rank 1) | Trainer |
| 4 | Earth Shock (Rank 1) | Trainer |
| 4 | Stoneskin Totem (Rank 1) | Class quest: Call of Earth (Classic quest) |

| 6 | Healing Wave (Rank 2) | Trainer |
| 8 | Earth Shock (Rank 2) | Trainer |
| 8 | Lightning Bolt (Rank 2) | Trainer |
| 8 | Lightning Shield (Rank 1) | Trainer |

Where your Shaman trainers are
| Where | Trainer | Spot (click for the map) | Walk |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shen'dar Village | Aarnor Galestrike (seen in Forever) | 43.5, 44.8 | 90 yards, 15 sec |
| Thendal Village | Windshaper Boro (seen in Forever) | not mapped yet (our guess: near Tai'ree Farsight) | - |
Walks start from where you appear (the first trainer), the middle of the town (town trainers) or the first town (city trainers).
Your racials as a Shaman
- Elemental Insight: More damage to elementals, which are common on Zephras Isle.
- Read Leyline: Rest faster: your health and mana come back twice as fast. Near one of the island's leylines it lasts much longer.
- Skysight: A little more speed, on foot and mounted. Near a convergence of elements it lasts much longer.
- Walk on Air: Glide gently down instead of falling. Jump off a cliff without getting hurt.
- Wind Blessed: A little haste for everything: faster attacks and faster spells.
Professions
For a Shaman, the best pair is Leatherworking and Skinning. Leatherworking makes leather armor you can wear, and Skinning takes leather from the beasts you kill anyway.
Tip: Not sure yet? Pick two gathering professions (Herbalism, Mining or Skinning). They make money from the very first herb, vein or beast, and you can swap one for a crafting profession later. Dropping a profession loses its skill, so decide before you've raised it far.
More on this: the best professions for each class.
After level 10
At level 10 you get your first talent point. Our Shaman leveling guide takes you on from there, and the leveling guide shows where to go next. Your first dungeon comes a bit later: see your first dungeon.
