Night Elf Druid: your first 10 levels

Updated · ForeverDB

A gentle start for a Night Elf Druid in WoW Forever: where your trainer stands in Shadowglen, your spells up to level 10, your class quests, the racials that help and the best professions.

Written for the WoW Forever beta, for your first 10 levels. Where each person stands comes from what players recorded in WoW Forever wherever we have it. Anything else is marked: "Classic data" means the spot comes from the original game and may have moved in Forever.

Right now

Welcome! You're a Night Elf Druid, and you start in Shadowglen. Here are the three things you need first. Take your time: nothing here is in a rush.

  1. You appear at 58.6, 44.8 in Shadowglen.
  2. Your first quest: talk to Melithar Staghelm (59.9, 42.5), 105 yards north-east of where you appear.
  3. Your Druid trainer is Mardant Strongoak at 58.6, 40.3, 155 yards north of where you appear (Classic data, may differ in Forever). Walk: 205 yards, 30 sec.
  4. Your class quest: Conservator Ilthalaine also has Verdant Sigil for you. It sends you to your trainer, and it's free experience.

Tip: If you die, that's fine: everyone does. Click Release Spirit, run back to your body as a ghost, and carry on. Fight one enemy at a time and eat or drink between fights.

Playing a Druid at first

You're a shapeshifter and a nature caster. Early on you cast nature spells and heal yourself, and at level 10 you learn to turn into a bear. You use mana.

  1. Cast Wrath at an enemy from a distance.
  2. Heal yourself with Healing Touch when you need it.
  3. Keep Mark of the Wild on yourself.

Tip: From level 4, Moonfire and Rejuvenation work over time while you do something else.

Tip: Your bear form comes from a class quest at level 10. It makes leveling much easier.

Your spells up to level 10

You start with your level 1 spells. The rest you learn from your trainer, for a few coins, at levels 4, 6, 8, 10. A few come from class quests instead. From the WoW Forever game client:

Your racials as a Druid

Professions

For a Druid, the best pair is Leatherworking and Skinning. Leatherworking makes leather armor you can wear, and Skinning takes leather from the beasts you kill anyway.

Tip: Not sure yet? Pick two gathering professions (Herbalism, Mining or Skinning). They make money from the very first herb, vein or beast, and you can swap one for a crafting profession later. Dropping a profession loses its skill, so decide before you've raised it far.

More on this: the best professions for each class.

After level 10

At level 10 you get your first talent point. Our Druid leveling guide takes you on from there, and the leveling guide shows where to go next. Your first dungeon comes a bit later: see your first dungeon.
