Night Elf: a guide for new players
Updated · ForeverDB
New to WoW Forever as a Night Elf? Your racials from the game client and what they're good for, which classes you can play and why, your languages, professions, and where you start.
Written for the WoW Forever beta, for your first 10 levels. Where each person stands comes from what players recorded in WoW Forever wherever we have it. Anything else is marked: "Classic data" means the spot comes from the original game and may have moved in Forever.

| Elune's Light | Increases your critical strike chance with all spells and attacks by 10% for 15 sec. | A burst of critical strikes for a short time. Press it for a hard fight. | New in Forever |
| Quickness | Dodge chance increased by 1% and movement speed increased by 2%. Night Elf Rogues and Druids are harder to detect in Stealth as if they were 1 level higher. | A little more dodge and a little more speed. Night Elf Rogues and Druids are also harder to spot in stealth. | Changed. In Classic: Dodge chance increased by 1%. |
| Shadowmeld | Activate to slip into the shadows, reducing the chance for enemies to detect your presence. Lasts until cancelled or upon moving. Using this ability in combat discourages enemies from attacking you, but increases the cooldown to 2 min. | Hide in the shadows while you stand still. Handy for letting enemies walk past you. | Changed. In Classic: Activate to slip into the shadows, reducing the chance for enemies to detect your presence. Lasts until cancelled or upon moving. Night Elf Rogues and Druids with Shadowmeld are more difficult to detect while stealthed or prowling. |
| Wisp Spirit | Transform into a wisp upon death, increasing movement speed by 75%. | When you die, you run back to your body as a fast wisp. | Changed. In Classic: Transform into a wisp upon death, increasing speed by 50%. |
