Frequently asked

Where should I go to level from 1 to 30 in the beta?

The beta cap is 30, raised from 20 with the build after the 1 October maintenance. Our level 1 to 30 route lists the zones, towns, flight masters and dungeons for every race, Alliance and Horde.

  • Alliance: finish your starting zone to about 10, then Westfall, Loch Modan or Darkshore (10-20), then Ashenvale, the Wetlands and Duskwood (20-30), with Redridge, Stonetalon and Hillsbrad to fill gaps.
  • Horde: finish your starting zone to about 12, then Silverpine Forest or The Barrens (10-20), then Ashenvale (20-30), with Stonetalon, Hillsbrad and Thousand Needles alongside.

There is no level scaling, so follow the zone order and move on when most of the quests left in your log turn green.

Where do I go to level to the 30 cap in the beta?

The beta cap is now 30 (Blizzard raised it from 20 with the 1 October build), and you get there by questing from zone to zone. Our Leveling to 30 guide has the full route for every race and both factions.

Alliance: finish your starting zone (Elwynn, Dun Morogh or Teldrassil) to about 10, then Westfall, Loch Modan or Darkshore to 20, then Ashenvale, the Wetlands and Duskwood for 20 to 30, with Redridge and Stonetalon to fill gaps.

Horde: starting zone to about 10, then The Barrens (or Silverpine for Undead) to about 20, then Ashenvale, Hillsbrad and Thousand Needles for 20 to 30.

Train at every even level, run the dungeons you pass, and there's a per-class leveling guide for each class too.
