Guild tools
Run your WoW Forever guild from ForeverDB, free: a calendar with sign-ups, Discord and email reminders, groups that open in the raid planner, a gear check for raid night, soft reserves on real loot tables, a loot log and attendance. Name reservations open on 27 October, launch is 4 November and raids open on 9 December.
What you get
- Calendar and sign-ups: officers post dungeon and raid nights (any dungeon or raid on ForeverDB, with its bosses), once or every week, with notes and limits for tanks, healers and DPS. Members sign up with a character and a role: accepted, tentative, late, bench or absent, with a comment. Officers confirm, bench and sort people into groups. Times show in each member's own time zone.
- Groups in the raid planner: one click opens the raid planner with the signed-up group already in it, ready for positions, assignments and a simulated pull.
- Reminders: paste a Discord webhook and new events and a reminder an hour before (you choose how long) are posted to your channel. Members can also get reminder emails, and every member has a private calendar feed for Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar.
- Gear and readiness check: for each member who shares, green, amber or red for the event, with the reasons: level, item level, empty slots, missing enchants, weak items, how many slots hold their spec's top picks at the level cap, professions, reputations, Legacy and consumables. Every check says what data it rests on and how old the snapshot is.
- Roster: members with their rank, level, class, professions and when their snapshot was taken, and who hasn't installed the Companion yet.
- Soft reserves: on every event, members reserve items from that dungeon's or raid's loot, by boss (or search the client's items when ForeverDB has no loot table for it yet). Officers set how many each, hard reserves the guild keeps, when reserves lock, whether they're hidden until then, +1s and an attendance bonus. Export as text or CSV, and the Companion addon shows who reserved an item on its tooltip and when it drops, pasted as a code (or brought in by the ForeverDB Uploader, if you use it).
- Loot log: who got which item from which boss, at which event, filled in from members' Companion uploads (0.18.0 records the winner from the loot history, rolls and the loot messages), with whether the reserve was honoured. Officers add and correct entries. By member or by event.
- Attendance: each member's attendance over 4 and 12 weeks, lates and no-shows, from the sign-ups and who was actually in the group (members' uploads and combat logs of that instance at that time). Officers correct entries.
Set it up
- Every member installs the Companion addon.
- Play: open the guild window once (the roster loads a few seconds after you log in anyway), then log out. Send the addon's data with the ForeverDB Uploader (automatic) or from your WoW folder (one click in Edge or Chrome, or drag and drop).
- Open your guild from your profile, or go to its page and press Guild tools.
- The Guild Master sets the officer ranks and pastes the Discord webhook; officers post the first event.
How ForeverDB knows who's in your guild
WoW Forever has no Battle.net API yet, so ForeverDB can't ask Blizzard. It checks your guild's own uploads instead.
- The ForeverDB Companion addon records your character's guild and rank, and the guild roster when the game has it loaded (names, ranks, levels and classes). It's sent with your character's snapshot, by the ForeverDB Uploader (automatic) or from your WoW folder.
- The Guild Master's own upload claims the guild. After that, a character is a member when its own snapshot says so and it's on the roster uploaded by a member who's already verified.
- Ranks come from other members' rosters, never from your own. The Guild Master picks which ranks are officers.
- The addon's saved file is on your PC and can be edited, so this isn't bulletproof: a real member's roster outvotes a fake Guild Master, officers can remove anyone who shouldn't be there, and ForeverDB's admins can hide a guild.
Privacy
- Everything in a guild's tools is private to its verified members and never in search engines.
- Your characters stay private. "Share with my guild" (off until you switch it on, per character) lets your guild's members see that character's gear, talents, professions, reputations and readiness. Without it, guildmates see only its name, class, level and rank.
- Reminder emails need your confirmation first, and every one has a link that stops them and deletes your address.
- The loot log and attendance use the names of the characters in your group and who won each item, from the Companion. Only your guild's members see them; ForeverDB's public dungeon data stays anonymous counts.
The privacy policy has the details.
