What's new on ForeverDB
New pages, tools and features on ForeverDB, and updates to its data from the WoW Forever client, newest first. For what's new in the game itself, see What's new in Forever; for Blizzard's news, News. Get the newsletter to hear about it by email.
October 2026
- Launch hub, live server status and a beta error checker : Everything about WoW Forever's launch on 4 November in one place, with a countdown in your time zone and answers to the common questions (release date, getting into the beta, names, editions, rulesets, the level 30 build, which class, race and profession). The status page checks Blizzard's login server every minute and shows Blizzard's maintenance notices; press "I can't play right now" to see if others can't either. Stuck on a loading screen? Drop your game's Connection.log on the beta errors page and it tells you what happened, without the file leaving your browser.
- Profession leveling guides and gathering maps : A leveling guide for every crafting profession: what to make at each skill and how many, a full shopping list, where to learn each recipe and when to train the next rank, worked out from WoW Forever's own recipes and skill colours (set your current skill and it starts from there). Plus herb and ore maps with the best zones for your skill, where to skin by level, where to learn every recipe on item pages, and crafted gear that's best in slot.
- The Uploader is optional : You no longer need the Windows app to share what the addons record. Pick your WoW folder once on your profile page and send with one click (Edge and Chrome), drag the folder onto the page in any browser, or copy a code from the ForeverDB Helper addon and paste it on foreverdb.net/send. The Uploader still does it all automatically if you like.
- Real Forever drop rates and clear times on dungeon pages : With the ForeverDB Helper addon and the Uploader, players' runs now feed the dungeon pages: drop rates seen in Forever (each kill counted once, however many in the group recorded it), clear times, kill times and wipes per boss, and the items players want most. Numbers only appear once there are enough runs, and they always say how many. Nothing with a name is ever sent; turn sharing off in the Helper's settings.
- One PvP weighting for guides and best in slot : The class PvP guides and the best-in-slot pages now use the same stat weights, and the guides' gear lists come straight from the best-in-slot picks. Alliance and Horde PvP rewards pair up properly, and you're no longer told to wear two items that share a limit (like two Battleground runes).
- Best in slot at any level, PvE and PvP : Pick your class and spec to see the best item for every slot at any level, with the next two picks, where each one comes from (which boss and how often, quest, recipe, vendor, PvP rank) and how easy it is to get. Switch to PvP for gear weighted for fighting players. Open the set in the gear planner or compare it with your own character.
- Forever's scrolls, and where to find them : All 38 of WoW Forever's new and changed scrolls (weapon imbues, familiars, Confuse Beast, Scroll of the Saber and more) with what they do. Nobody has recorded where they come from yet: loot or buy one with the Companion or Helper addon and it shows up here for everyone.
- New addon: ForeverDB Helper : Your dungeons, wishlist, goals, notes and runs in one window in the game. Plan a run boss by boss with abilities, tips for your role and the loot; star the items you want and it tells you when one drops, even for someone else in your group; set goals whose tasks tick themselves; keep notes your group can see; and every run is timed with your best time. Free, for any interface.
- The Windows app is now called ForeverDB Uploader : The free Windows app that keeps the Companion addon and its data up to date and uploads what the addon records (and your armory) is now called the ForeverDB Uploader. It's the same app with a new name and a new page: if you have it, there's nothing to do. It keeps its settings and its link to your account, and offers version 1.7.0 with the new name. The name ForeverDB Helper now belongs to a new in-game addon.
- Companion 0.23.0: a quest helper and a dungeon helper : The Companion addon now does what Questie and the dungeon helpers do, from ForeverDB's own data. Quests you can pick up, where to hand them in and where your objectives are show as pins on the world map and the minimap; a waypoint arrow points the way with the distance (click a pin, Shift- or Ctrl-click the map, or /fdb way 45 60); your coordinates show on the minimap and the cursor's on the world map; and a quest tracker lists your quests nearest first with their progress. Creature and item tooltips say which quest needs them. The new Dungeons page shows the dungeon you're in or the best for your level: bosses in order, the loot that's an upgrade for your spec, boss tips and your quest checklist, and a small panel inside dungeons tracks bosses killed and what could still drop for you. What players saw in Forever comes first; Classic data from CMaNGOS classic-db is always labelled. As you play, the addon notes where quest objectives happen, which fills in Forever's new quests for everyone.
- Companion 0.22.0: a proper settings page : Every setting of the Companion addon is now a tick box, a slider or a choice, with a line saying what it does, in sections on the ForeverDB window's Settings page, and the same settings are in Esc, Options, AddOns, ForeverDB Companion: change one and the other follows. Reset settings to defaults asks first and keeps your notes and recordings. Nothing needs a slash command any more: a new Raid & group page has the buff check, raid notes and your guild's soft reserves (paste a reserve code, see who reserved what), and a new Bots & spam page lists the players the bot check flagged, with Report and Ignore, and all its settings. /fdb commands still work as shortcuts that open the right page.
- Import your character from the game : Companion 0.21.0 adds a My character page (or type /fdb share): your class, level, talents, gear and professions as one short code. Paste it on the new Import from game page to see your character with item tooltips and enchants, sim its DPS, compare your gear with the best for your level, open your talents in the talent calculator, or copy a link to send to friends. Signed in, save it to your private armory with one click. No app to install, and your name is only in the code if you tick the box. The talent calculator, the simulator and the gear planner take the code too, and players without the ForeverDB Uploader app can now upload the addon's saved file on their profile instead.
September 2026
- Blizzard's videos, checked against the game files : When Blizzard posts a WoW Forever video on its own YouTube channel, ForeverDB now writes it up: every ability and talent the video names, checked against the beta client with its real numbers and level, and where the two disagree. The video plays right in the article, and Blizzard's own videos carry an Official label. First up: Class Highlights Part 1 (Warrior, Shaman, Rogue).
- Gold sellers and bots tracker : A new page names the gold-selling websites and Discord servers advertised in WoW Forever's chat (as plain text, never links), with how much gold spam and how many possible bots players see on each realm, day by day, and the zones where farming bots gather. It names businesses, never players: spam often comes from hacked accounts. Everything is anonymous counts from Companion 0.20.0 users, and a seller is listed only after 3 different players reported it on 2 realms or days and an admin checked it. Also: why buying gold gets you banned, and how to report spam and bots.
- DPS simulator : Sim a boss fight a thousand times for any of 20 DPS specs at level 20 (or 30): the average DPS with the spread of every outcome, damage by ability, stat weights, which item is better, A-against-B comparisons and a sample fight, from the game client's own abilities and talents, with every assumption labelled.
- Class changes vs Classic, rank by rank, with a Present mode for videos : Each class's Changes vs Classic page is now one simple list: filter by new talents, changed talents, removed or spells, or search, and pick a change to see Forever beside Classic Era. Every spell shows all its ranks side by side, with the changed numbers highlighted and written plainly (Shadow Bolt rank 10: 253–283 instead of 482–538), plus spell power coefficient, cost, cast time, range and duration where they changed (Shadowburn now reaches 30 yards instead of 20). Spell pages have the same All ranks vs Classic table. Present shows one change per screen in big, high-contrast text with no ads or menus, for screen-sharing on video: step through with the arrow keys. Season of Discovery leftovers are labelled, and spells that reuse a Season of Discovery ID are compared with their SoD version. From beta build 70124.
- Tier list maker: make, share and export your own tier list : Make a WoW Forever tier list in seconds: it opens with rows S to F and all 27 specs waiting, with their icons from the game client. Drag them into rows with a mouse or a finger (press and hold on a phone), tap one and then a row, or use the keyboard: focus an entry and press a row's letter or number. Switch the pool to classes, races (Skyborne included), professions or dungeons, or go custom and add any item, spell, mount or talent. Under More: rename, recolour, add or remove rows, set a title and a context (PvP, leveling, dungeons, raids, farming) and start from ForeverDB's own lists or a community list; pick an entry up to give it a note. Share copies a link that holds the whole list, no account needed, and Export image draws it at 1920×1080 for a video thumbnail or square for a post, with a small ForeverDB mark, to download or copy. Logged in, save your lists and publish them to the new community gallery, where players vote and each context gets a community average: players' opinions, labelled as such.
- Downrank calculator: the best rank of every spell : Which rank of a spell gives the most damage or healing for your mana, and which is fastest? Pick your class and a spell and the answer is at the top, worked out at the level cap with example gear: every learned rank's damage or healing per cast, per mana and per second (counting the global cooldown), and how long your mana lasts casting it. Adjust your level, spell or healing power, crit, mana, regeneration, fight length, enemy health or overheal, and the talents that change the spell. A chart shows where a lower rank overtakes a higher one as your gear improves, and every rank is set against Classic Era's. 68 Mage, Warlock, Priest, Shaman, Druid, Paladin and Hunter spells, all from the Forever client, which gives low ranks their full spell power share: Classic Era's low-level penalty isn't in it. It also answers the rumour that Forever sims spam rank 2 Shadow Bolt.
- Talent calculator: levelling order, Classic compare and presets : The talent calculator now records the order you take your talents in, one per level from 10 (or sooner with the Legacy perk Talented), and shows it beside the trees with the beta cap and next cap marked. Drag a level to move it or click it to change its pick; every level is checked against the tree's tier and prerequisite rules, and Fix the order moves a pick to the first level it works. Share links keep the order, old links still open on today's tree, and Copy for the Companion sends the plan to the addon. Compare with Classic marks every talent new or changed with "12% instead of 15%" rank by rank and lists the Classic talents Forever dropped. Builds loads a recommended build in one click, and a summary adds up what your talents do at level 20, 30 or the whole build, with the abilities they give. On phones the trees switch with tabs and a long press opens a talent's card.
- Rare spawns: every rare, where and when : A new rare spawn tracker: 354 rares and rare elites across 38 zones and 10 dungeons, 81 of them up to the level 20 cap. Pick a zone and see each rare's picture, level and when players last saw it in Forever; its own page has its spawn points on the zone map, how long it takes to come back, whether only one of its spawn points is up at a time, its notable loot and whether Hunters can tame it. Rares are also a layer on every zone map. The Forever game cache confirms which creatures are rare (Warlord Kolkanis so far); the rest are from Classic's data and labelled that way until someone sees them in Forever.
- Companion 0.19.0: gold spam and bot reports : The Companion now spots gold and boost spam in say, yell, whispers and the public channels (web addresses written to dodge filters, look-alike letters, real-money gold prices, account and power-leveling selling) and can hide it from chat, while ordinary trade like "WTS [Linen Cloth] 5g" and your guild, group and friends are never touched. It also notices players seen fighting or gathering in one spot for hours, as a hint. Out of combat and never in dungeons or battlegrounds, a small prompt offers to report them: Report opens Blizzard's own report window for that player (addons can't send reports, so you pick the reason and press Send), Ignore never asks again, and /fdb bots lists the last 7 days. The names stay on your PC; the Uploader app (1.5.0) shares only anonymous counts per realm and day.
- Soft reserves, loot log and attendance : Guild tools get what Classic guilds used softres.it and spreadsheets for, next to real loot tables and your calendar. Members soft reserve items on each event from that dungeon's or raid's loot, by boss (or search the client's items when there's no loot table yet); officers set how many each, hard reserves, when reserves lock, whether they're hidden until then, +1s and an attendance bonus, and export as text or CSV. Companion 0.18.0 shows who reserved an item on its tooltip and when it drops (the Uploader app 1.4.0 brings the reserves in, or paste a code with /fdb sr), and records who won each item, so the loot log fills itself from members' uploads, matched to your events, with whether the reserve was honoured. Attendance over 4 and 12 weeks, lates and no-shows come from sign-ups and who was actually in the group. Private to the guild.
- Group finder : Find a group for any WoW Forever dungeon, raid, quest or PvP, or players for yours: post LFG or LFM with your realm, faction, ruleset, level range, the roles you need and a short note, and filter by realm, faction, dungeon, role and level. The list refreshes by itself, posts last an hour (bump once), and the Whisper button copies /w Name-Realm for the game's chat. Every dungeon page links to its groups, and in Discord /lfg post, /lfg list and /lfg subscribe do the same.
- Guild recruitment board : Guilds recruiting ahead of launch, and players looking for a guild. Officers post for their guild (proven from the Companion's guild roster): realm, faction, ruleset, focus, raid nights shown in each visitor's time zone, the classes and specs they want, language, a description and a Discord invite, with the guild's size and its progress from public combat logs. Players post a profile or apply with one message; officers accept or decline in guild tools' new Applications tab and get new applications in Discord.
- Guild events in Discord, with sign-up buttons : Link your guild's ForeverDB calendar to a Discord channel (/guild link, with a code from guild tools) and the bot posts each new event with the sign-ups by role and Accept, Tentative, Late, Bench and Absent buttons and a role menu. The message updates as people sign up there or on ForeverDB, reminders come from the bot, and /event list shows what's next, with a gear check summary for officers. Members link their Discord account once from their profile (/link).
- Guild tools : Run your guild from ForeverDB: officers post dungeon and raid nights (once or every week) with role limits, members sign up with a character, role and status, and officers confirm, bench and sort groups that open straight in the raid planner. New events and a reminder before each one go to your Discord channel, members can get reminder emails and a private calendar feed, and a gear and readiness check shows green, amber or red for everyone who shares, with the reasons and the items they're missing. Membership is proven from the Companion addon's guild roster (Companion 0.17.0), and each character is only shared with the guild if its owner switches that on.
- Tips & questions : Every item, spell, quest, dungeon, boss, class, talent tree, zone map, guide and news post has a Tips & questions block at the bottom: share how to get it, how to beat it or what it's good for, ask other players (and accept the answer that helped), or tell us what's wrong on the page. Posts are short and plain, show the game build they were written on, and sort by players' votes, with the best tip pinned. When ForeverDB checks a tip or correction against the client or players' data it says "Confirmed by ForeverDB", and "Fixed" once a correction is fixed. Unanswered questions get an automatic answer from ForeverDB's own data, marked as ForeverDB's. Log in with Battle.net to post; you can show one of your public armory characters next to your name. Recent posts from across the site are on the new Tips & questions page.
- ForeverDB Discord bot : Add ForeverDB to your Discord server: /item, /spell, /quest, /npc, /dungeon, /boss, /mount and /talent answer with cards drawn like the site's tooltips (icon, quality colour, stats, where to get it and the same Forever client, Seen in Forever, Classic data or Speculation label), with names that autocomplete as you type. /ask answers questions from ForeverDB's data with its sources, /character shows public armory characters, and /news subscribe posts new articles, Blizzard's posts and new finds in the game files to a channel of your choice. It never reads your server's messages.
- Dungeon guides : Every dungeon and raid has a full guide: level range and group size from the client, where the entrance is and the nearest flight master, the bosses in order with their models, abilities and tips by role, a loot table you can filter by slot and class, quests, videos and sources. The Hall of Thanes and Ruins of Lordaeron list the loot the client ties to them, such as the Rotmender's Raiment set, labelled as unconfirmed until players see it drop. The dungeons page has a "Dungeons for level X" view for the level 20 cap and the next one, and shows what each dungeon's loot is worth going for. Every fact says where it comes from: the client, players' drops, Blizzard or Classic.
- Lore for roleplayers : A lore section for roleplayers: every race including the Skyborne, every class, all the factions (with the new Kirin Tor, Earthen Ring, Guardians of Hyjal, Nightclaw Druids, The Watchers, Theramore Expeditionary Force and Darkspear Raiders), Forever's new places, when Forever's story is set in Blizzard's own words, and an RP guide to the Roleplaying ruleset, two-part names, languages and emotes. Written from the game client and Blizzard's posts, with every quote checked word for word and anything unannounced, like Gilneas, marked Speculation.
- Macros for every class : Ready-made macros for all nine classes and every character, with the code to copy, what each one does, how to use it and the level it needs: focus and mouseover crowd control and interrupts, mouseover heals and dispels, stance and form macros, pet control, potions and healthstones in the right order, and Forever's new racials. Every spell name, rank and command is checked against the game client. Each class page has a Macros tab too.
- Mounts page : Every mount in the game files with a picture of each: its speed, the riding it needs, the item that teaches it, Alliance or Horde, its price and where it comes from, with the 39 new ones first. Mounts are much cheaper than in Classic.
- Faction pages : Each faction has its own page: who can earn it and where they start, how you earn it, every reward by standing, and its battleground, titles and Legacy challenges. The Kirin Tor, Earthen Ring, Guardians of Hyjal, Nightclaw Druids, The Watchers, Darkspear Raiders and Theramore Expeditionary Force are new.
