Druid Macros

Druid macros for WoW Forever: shapeshifting on fewer keys, shifting out of roots and slows, Bear and Cat openers, Feral Charge, Bash and Growl on your focus or mouseover, mouseover heals with self-cast, cures, Rebirth in combat and Forever's new Revive out of it, buffs and crowd control. In Forever, Cat Form comes at level 20 from the quest The Great Cat Spirit, Feral Charge is a new Feral talent at the level 20 tier, and Furor works differently, which changes what powershifting is for.

19 Druid macros for WoW Forever, each with the code to copy, what it does, how to use it and the level it needs. Every spell name, rank and command is checked against the Forever beta client (build 1.60.1.70170); none has been tested in the beta yet. Macros above the level 30 cap are marked Speculation.

Forms

Conditions like [form:1] count your forms in the order the stance bar shows them, and that depends on which forms you know. Bear Form is always 1 (Dire Bear Form takes its place). Aquatic Form is 2 if you have it, so Cat Form is 3 with Aquatic Form and 2 without, and Travel Form comes after. The macros here only use [form:1] and conditions that don't depend on the count: [noform] (caster form), [stealth], [swimming] and [outdoors]. Every form costs mana to enter: Bear Form and Cat Form cost 55% of your base mana in the client.

Shift out of roots and slows into Cat Form

#showtooltip Cat Form
/cancelform
/cast Cat Form

What it does. Drops whatever form you're in and shifts straight into Cat Form on the same press. If you're already in caster form, it just shifts.

How to use it. Press it when you're rooted or slowed in Cat Form. You come out of it in Cat Form, free to run.

Why it's useful. The client's form tooltips say shapeshifting frees you of Polymorph and movement-impairing effects. /cast Cat Form on its own would only take you out of Cat Form; /cancelform isn't a cast, so the shift back in still happens on the same press.

Needs: Cat Form (level 20).

Usable from level 20. 48/255 characters. Not yet tested in the beta.

  • Each shift costs 55% of your base mana and triggers the global cooldown, so you can't do it often.
  • Forever changed Furor: shifting into Cat Form gives back a share of the Energy you had when you were last in Cat Form (100% at 5 points), plus some for each second spent out of Bear and Cat Form. Classic's powershifting for a flat 40 Energy isn't in the client, so this macro is for escaping, not for Energy.

Aquatic Form in water, Cat Form on land

#showtooltip
/cast [swimming] Aquatic Form; [mod:shift, outdoors] Travel Form; Cat Form

What it does. Shifts into Aquatic Form when you're swimming, and Cat Form on land. With Shift outdoors, Travel Form.

How to use it. Use it as your getting-around key. Press it again in the same form to shift back to caster form.

Why it's useful. Three ways to move faster on one key that picks the right one for water. You never cast Cat Form in a lake by mistake.

Needs: Aquatic Form (level 16), Travel Form (level 30), Cat Form (level 20).

Usable from level 20. 86/255 characters. Not yet tested in the beta.

  • Travel Form needs level 30 and only works outdoors; until then Shift does nothing. It's on a modifier because a macro doesn't skip a form you haven't learned: it would try it and fail.
  • Aquatic Form comes from a class quest at 16 and Cat Form from a quest at 20.

Bear Form, then Maul (Swipe with Shift)

#showtooltip
/startattack [form:1,harm,nodead]
/cast [form:1,mod:shift] Swipe; [form:1] Maul; Bear Form

What it does. Out of Bear Form, it shifts you into Bear Form. In Bear Form, it starts your auto-attack and uses Maul, or Swipe with Shift.

How to use it. Use it as your main bear key: the first press puts you in Bear Form, the next ones Maul. Hold Shift against packs.

Why it's useful. When a pull goes wrong you want to be a bear and hitting things with as few keys as possible. This does both from one key in any form.

Needs: Swipe (level 16), Maul (level 10), Bear Form (level 10).

Usable from level 10. 103/255 characters. Not yet tested in the beta.

  • [form:1] is Bear Form for every Druid who has done the bear quest, since Bear Form is learned first.
  • In the client Maul adds damage to your next attack for 15 Rage; Swipe hits 3 nearby enemies for 20 Rage and needs level 16.

Cat Form, then Prowl

#showtooltip Prowl
/cast [noform][form:1] Cat Form; !Prowl

What it does. In caster form or Bear Form, shifts you into Cat Form. In Cat Form, Prowls. Pressing it again while prowling doesn't cancel it.

How to use it. Press it twice before you approach an enemy: once for Cat Form, once for Prowl.

Why it's useful. You always want to be in Cat Form before Prowl, and the ! stops a double press taking you out of stealth.

Needs: Cat Form (level 20), Prowl (level 20).

Usable from level 20. 58/255 characters. Not yet tested in the beta.

  • Prowl only works in Cat Form (its form list in the client) and slows you by 40% until you cancel it.
  • In Aquatic or Travel Form the macro tries Prowl, which fails: shift to caster form first.

Prowl opener: Ravage, or Pounce with Shift

#showtooltip
/cast [stealth, mod:shift] Pounce; [stealth] Ravage; Claw

What it does. While prowling, opens with Ravage, or Pounce with Shift. Out of stealth, it's Claw.

How to use it. Get behind the enemy while prowling and press it. After the opener, the same key is your Claw.

Why it's useful. Your opener and your main combo-point builder share a key: you can't press the wrong one out of stealth.

Needs: Pounce (level 36), Ravage (level 32), Claw (level 20).

Speculation: Needs level 32 (Ravage), above the beta's level 30 cap. 69/255 characters. Not yet tested in the beta.

  • Ravage needs level 32 and Pounce 36. Before 32 the key does nothing while you prowl (it tries Ravage) and is Claw out of stealth. Both openers must be used from Prowl and behind the target, going by the client's tooltips.
  • Pounce stuns for 2 sec and bleeds the target; Ravage does 350% damage plus a bonus. Both award 1 combo point.

Feral: charges, stuns and taunts

Forever's Feral Charge is a new talent at the level 20 tier. Its tooltip describes the bear charge (it immobilises the enemy and interrupts spellcasting for 4 sec) and then quotes the cat version: "Leap behind an enemy." The spell's form list is Cat Form, Bear Form and Dire Bear Form.

Feral Charge and start attacking

#showtooltip Feral Charge
/cast Feral Charge
/startattack

What it does. Uses Feral Charge on your target and starts your auto-attack.

How to use it. Press it on an enemy between 8 and 25 yards away. In Bear Form, use it on a caster to interrupt its spell.

Why it's useful. After a charge you want to be swinging at once. In the client Feral Charge isn't on the global cooldown, so both lines work on one press.

Needs: Feral Charge (level 20, Feral Combat talent).

Usable from level 20. 57/255 characters. Not yet tested in the beta.

  • 15 sec cooldown and 5 Rage in the client's spell data.
  • The bear effect is spelled out in the tooltip; the cat effect is only "Leap behind an enemy", so how it behaves in Cat Form isn't clear from the client.

Bash your focus, mouseover or target

#showtooltip Bash
/cast [@focus,harm,nodead][@mouseover,harm,nodead][] Bash

What it does. Bashes your focus if it's in melee range, otherwise the enemy under your mouse, otherwise your target.

How to use it. Make a caster your focus. When it starts a spell next to you, press this without leaving your main target.

Why it's useful. Bash is the Bear's stun. Using it on the caster next to you while you keep your target saves a swap and gets the stun out sooner.

Needs: Bash (level 14).

Usable from level 14. 75/255 characters. Not yet tested in the beta.

  • In the client Bash stuns for 2 sec, costs 10 Rage, has a 1 min cooldown and needs Bear Form or Dire Bear Form.
  • It's melee range: the focus has to be next to you.

Growl the enemy under your mouse

#showtooltip Growl
/cast [@mouseover,harm,nodead][] Growl

What it does. Taunts the enemy under your mouse, or your target if you're not pointing at one.

How to use it. When an enemy runs to your healer, point at it in the pack and press it, then go back to your target.

Why it's useful. Taunting from the mouse keeps your target on the enemy you're building threat on.

Needs: Growl (level 10).

Usable from level 10. 57/255 characters. Not yet tested in the beta.

  • In the client Growl has an 8 sec cooldown, isn't on the global cooldown, needs Bear Form or Dire Bear Form and has a 5 yard range.
  • It does nothing if the enemy is already attacking you.

Healing, cures and resurrection

The heals go on the friend under your mouse, then your friendly target, then yourself. Hold Alt to heal yourself whatever you're pointing at. Healing spells don't work in Bear or Cat Form, so the first macro shows how to leave your form on the same press.

Leave your form and heal yourself

#showtooltip
/cancelform
/cast [mod:shift,@player] Regrowth; [@player] Rejuvenation

What it does. Drops your Bear or Cat Form and casts Rejuvenation on yourself, or Regrowth with Shift.

How to use it. Press it when a fight is going badly in form. Rejuvenation is instant; Regrowth has a 2 sec cast but heals at once and over time.

Why it's useful. A feral Druid's emergency heal needs two steps: out of form, then heal. This does both on one press.

Needs: Regrowth (level 12), Rejuvenation (level 4).

Usable from level 4. 83/255 characters. Not yet tested in the beta.

  • /cancelform takes you out of form even when the heal then fails (out of mana, on the global cooldown). If a heal ever fails with a shapeshift error, press again: the first press will have left the form.
  • Getting back into Bear or Cat Form costs 55% of your base mana, so you'll often stay in caster form.

Healing Touch on your mouseover, Shift for a cheap rank

#showtooltip
/cast [mod:shift,@mouseover,help,nodead][mod:shift,help,nodead][mod:shift,@player] Healing Touch(Rank 2); [mod:alt,@player][@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Healing Touch

What it does. Casts your highest Healing Touch on the friend under your mouse, your friendly target or yourself (Alt: always yourself). With Shift, rank 2 instead.

How to use it. Use plain Healing Touch for big hits and Shift for top-ups. Change Rank 2 to suit your level: rank 3 (level 14) heals 179 to 223 for 110 mana.

Why it's useful. At level 20 your best rank heals 325 to 399 for 190 mana with a 3 sec cast. Rank 2 heals 88 to 112 for 55 mana in 2 sec, which is plenty for chip damage.

Needs: Healing Touch (Rank 2, level 8), Healing Touch (level 1).

Usable from level 8. 196/255 characters. Not yet tested in the beta.

  • Typed exactly as the client's spellbook writes it: Healing Touch(Rank 2), with no space before the bracket.

Rejuvenation, or Regrowth with Shift, on your mouseover

#showtooltip
/cast [mod:shift,@mouseover,help,nodead][mod:shift,help,nodead][mod:shift,@player] Regrowth; [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Rejuvenation

What it does. Casts Rejuvenation on the friend under your mouse, your friendly target or yourself. With Shift, Regrowth.

How to use it. Keep Rejuvenation rolling on the tank from the party frames. Use Shift when someone needs a heal now as well as over time.

Why it's useful. Your two heal-over-time spells on one key, from the frames, without losing your target.

Needs: Regrowth (level 12), Rejuvenation (level 4).

Usable from level 4. 165/255 characters. Not yet tested in the beta.

  • Rank 1 of Regrowth heals 80 to 94 and another 91 over 21 sec for 70 mana in the client; Rejuvenation rank 1 heals 32 over 12 sec.

Nature's Swiftness into an instant Healing Touch

#showtooltip Nature's Swiftness
/cast Nature's Swiftness
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Healing Touch

What it does. Activates Nature's Swiftness and casts Healing Touch on your mouseover, friendly target or yourself. Nature's Swiftness makes it instant.

How to use it. Press it when the tank is about to die and a 3 sec cast would be too slow.

Why it's useful. Nature's Swiftness only helps if the big heal follows at once. On one key it can't go on the wrong spell.

Needs: Nature's Swiftness (level 30, Restoration talent), Healing Touch (level 1).

Usable from level 30. 123/255 characters. Not yet tested in the beta.

  • Nature's Swiftness is a Restoration talent (level 30 tier) with a 3 min cooldown. It isn't on the global cooldown, so both lines go off on one press.
  • When it's on cooldown, the press casts a normal Healing Touch with its full cast time.

Cure Poison, or Remove Curse with Shift, on your mouseover

#showtooltip
/cast [mod:shift,@mouseover,help,nodead][mod:shift,help,nodead][mod:shift,@player] Remove Curse; [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Cure Poison

What it does. Cures 1 poison from the friend under your mouse, your friendly target or yourself. With Shift, removes a curse instead.

How to use it. Point at the poisoned or cursed player's frame and press it.

Why it's useful. Poisons and curses on the tank or healer can end a pull. Mouseover cures take a second and don't cost you your target.

Needs: Remove Curse (level 24), Cure Poison (level 14).

Usable from level 14. 168/255 characters. Not yet tested in the beta.

  • In Forever Remove Curse also removes Banes: the client's tooltip says "Dispels 1 Curse or Bane". It needs level 24; Cure Poison comes from a class quest at 14.
  • From level 26, Abolish Poison cures a poison and another one every 2 sec for 8 sec: swap it in for Cure Poison.
  • These don't work in Bear or Cat Form. Add /cancelform as the second line if you want the macro to leave your form first.

Rebirth in combat, Revive out of combat

#showtooltip
/cast [combat,@mouseover,help,dead][combat,help,dead] Rebirth; [@mouseover,help,dead][help,dead] Revive

What it does. On a dead friend under your mouse (or your dead target): in combat it casts Rebirth, out of combat it casts Revive.

How to use it. Point at a dead player's frame or corpse and press it. [combat] checks your own combat state.

Why it's useful. Revive is new in Forever: a Druid resurrect for after the fight, with no cooldown. Rebirth has a 30 min cooldown in the client, so you don't want to spend it when Revive would do. One key picks the right one.

Needs: Rebirth (level 20), Revive (level 12).

Usable from level 12. 116/255 characters. Not yet tested in the beta.

  • Revive (level 12) has a 10 sec cast and can't be cast in combat; rank 1 brings the target back with 70 health and 135 mana.
  • Rebirth (level 20) has a 2 sec cast, works in combat, and uses a Maple Seed at rank 1 in the client's spell data.

Innervate your mouseover or yourself

#showtooltip Innervate
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Innervate

What it does. Casts Innervate on the friend under your mouse, your friendly target or yourself.

How to use it. Point at your group's healer's frame when they run low on mana and press it. With nobody under your mouse, it goes on you.

Why it's useful. Innervate is worth most on whoever is lowest on mana, and that's often not you or your target.

Needs: Innervate (level 40).

Speculation: Needs level 40 (Innervate), above the beta's level 30 cap. 85/255 characters. Not yet tested in the beta.

  • In the client Innervate raises the target's mana regeneration by 400% for 20 sec and lets all of it continue while casting. 6 min cooldown, level 40.

Buffs, crowd control and travel

Help for the group and control of single enemies, without changing target.

Mark of the Wild, or Thorns with Shift, on your mouseover

#showtooltip
/cast [mod:shift,@mouseover,help,nodead][mod:shift,help,nodead][mod:shift,@player] Thorns; [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Mark of the Wild

What it does. Casts Mark of the Wild on the friend under your mouse, your friendly target or yourself. With Shift, Thorns.

How to use it. Buff the party from their frames before a dungeon, and put Thorns on the tank.

Why it's useful. Buffing a party takes a few seconds without clicking each player, and you never cast them on an enemy.

Needs: Thorns (level 6), Mark of the Wild (level 1).

Usable from level 1. 167/255 characters. Not yet tested in the beta.

  • Mark of the Wild lasts 1 hour in the Forever client (30 min in its older text); Thorns lasts 10 min.

Entangling Roots on your focus, mouseover or target

#showtooltip Entangling Roots
/cast [@focus,harm,nodead][@mouseover,harm,nodead][] Entangling Roots

What it does. Roots your focus, or the enemy under your mouse, or your target.

How to use it. Set a second enemy as your focus at the pull and root it while you fight the first, or root a runner.

Why it's useful. Keeping an add out of the fight while you keep your target is one of the Druid's best levelling tools.

Needs: Entangling Roots (level 8).

Usable from level 8. 99/255 characters. Not yet tested in the beta.

  • Forever's tooltip: you may only have 1 target rooted at a time, and damage may break it. It no longer says "Only useable outdoors", which the client's older text did.
  • 1.5 sec cast, 30 yards, 12 sec.

Hibernate, and Shift sets the focus first

#showtooltip Hibernate
/focus [mod:shift,@mouseover,harm,nodead][mod:shift]
/cast [@focus,harm,nodead][] Hibernate

What it does. With Shift held, makes the enemy under your mouse (or your target) your focus and puts it to sleep. Without Shift, re-sleeps your focus, or your target if you have no focus.

How to use it. At the pull, point at the Beast or Dragonkin to sleep, hold Shift and press. Press it on its own whenever it wakes.

Why it's useful. Setting the focus and casting on it is one press, and afterwards you never sleep the tank's target by mistake.

Needs: Hibernate (level 18).

Usable from level 18. 114/255 characters. Not yet tested in the beta.

  • In the client Hibernate only works on Beasts and Dragonkin, lasts up to 20 sec, breaks on any damage, and only one target can be asleep at a time.

Hearthstone, or Teleport: Moonglade with Shift

#showtooltip
/cast [mod:shift] Teleport: Moonglade
/use [nomod] Hearthstone

What it does. Uses your Hearthstone; with Shift, casts Teleport: Moonglade instead.

How to use it. Press it to go home. Hold Shift to go to Moonglade.

Why it's useful. Two ways home on one key, and Teleport: Moonglade doesn't touch your Hearthstone's cooldown.

Needs: Teleport: Moonglade (level 10), Hearthstone.

Usable from level 10. 75/255 characters. Not yet tested in the beta.

  • Teleport: Moonglade is a 10 sec cast in the client and is taught at level 10.
