Tailoring leveling guide 1-300
The cheapest way from 1 to 300 in WoW Forever, with the game client's own recipes and skill colours: 15 steps and about 416 crafts. Each step says what to make, how many, what to buy and where to learn it. Enable JavaScript to switch to Horde, start from your own skill and get the shopping list for the rest of the way.
Level cap: Artisan Tailoring needs character level 35, and the beta's cap is 30, so for now you can reach skill 225.
The route (Alliance)
- 1-27: Bolt of Linen Cloth. Make about 26 (26-27); orange to 25, grey at 50. Each needs 2 Linen Cloth. Learn it (learned automatically). Buy or gather: 52 Linen Cloth.
- 27-73: Linen Belt. Make about 60 (52-67); orange to 50, grey at 85. Each needs 1 Bolt of Linen Cloth, 1 Coarse Thread. Learn it (from a trainer for 45c such as Me'lynn (Darnassus) (Classic data)). Buy or gather: 60 Coarse Thread, 68 Linen Cloth.
- Train Journeyman Tailoring before skill 75: from skill 50 and level 10, 4s 50c. Classic data.
- 73-81: Reinforced Linen Cape. Make about 15 (10-21); orange to 60, grey at 95. Each needs 2 Bolt of Linen Cloth, 3 Coarse Thread. Learn it (from a trainer for 1s 80c such as Me'lynn (Darnassus) (Classic data)). Buy or gather: 45 Coarse Thread, 60 Linen Cloth.
- 81-110: Woolen Cape. Make about 64 (50-79); orange to 80, grey at 115. Each needs 1 Bolt of Woolen Cloth, 1 Fine Thread. Learn it (from a trainer for 2s 25c such as Me'lynn (Darnassus) (Classic data)). Buy or gather: 64 Fine Thread, 192 Wool Cloth.
- 110-127: Stylish Red Shirt. Make about 23 (18-27); orange to 110, grey at 145. Each needs 3 Bolt of Woolen Cloth, 2 Red Dye, 1 Fine Thread. Learn it (from a trainer for 2s 25c such as Me'lynn (Darnassus) (Classic data)). Buy or gather: 23 Fine Thread, 207 Wool Cloth, 46 Red Dye.
- 127-141: Red Woolen Bag. Make about 32 (23-41); orange to 115, grey at 150. Each needs 4 Bolt of Woolen Cloth, 1 Red Dye, 1 Fine Thread. Learn it (the recipe is sold by Zixil (Alterac Mountains)). Buy or gather: 32 Fine Thread, 384 Wool Cloth, 32 Red Dye.

- 141-173: Azure Silk Cloak. Make about 36 (32-39); orange to 160, grey at 190. Each needs 3 Bolt of Silk Cloth, 2 Blue Dye, 2 Fine Thread. Learn it (the recipe is sold by Brienna Starglow (Thousand Needles)). Buy or gather: 72 Fine Thread, 432 Silk Cloth, 72 Blue Dye.

How this guide is worked out
- Skill colours are the Forever client's (yellow and grey; green halfway between).
- An orange recipe always gives a point; from yellow to grey the chance is (grey - skill) / (grey - yellow): the standard Classic formula, our assumption for Forever.
- Forever has no auction house data, so nothing is priced from it: vendor materials count at the vendor's price, gathered and looted ones at 5 times what a vendor pays for them (or by item level), rarer herbs and ores more.
- Only recipes you can learn somewhere known count; trainers, recipe vendors and quests are Classic data (CMaNGOS classic-db) until players see them in Forever.
