Humans
The youngest and most adaptable of the Alliance's peoples. Their kingdoms have survived orc invasions and the plague of undeath, and in Forever's Year 1 Stormwind stands as one of the last great human cities, led by a child king.

- Homeland: Elwynn Forest and the kingdoms of the Eastern Kingdoms
- Capital: Stormwind City
- Leader: The child king Anduin Wrynn (client)
- Starting zone: Northshire, Elwynn Forest
- Home faction: Stormwind
What the client says
Human (Alliance)
Lore name: Human. Languages: Common. Starts in Elwynn Forest. Classes: Hunter (new in Forever), Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, Warlock, Warrior. Racials: Perception, Sword Specialization, The Human Spirit, Will to Survive.
The client's character-creation text: Humans are a young race, and thus highly versatile, mastering the arts of combat, craftsmanship, and magic with stunning efficiency. The humans' valor and optimism have led them to build some of the world's greatest kingdoms. In this troubled era, after generations of conflict, humanity seeks to rekindle its former glory and forge a shining new future.
Who they are
Humans are quick learners who turn their hands to anything: soldiering, crafting, faith, magic. What they lack in lifespan they make up in ambition. In Forever they are a people rebuilding: proud of the kingdoms they built, bruised by what they have lost, and determined to be great again.

Warcraft background: Humanity's oldest kingdom was Arathor, whose descendants founded the seven human kingdoms. Stormwind was destroyed by the orcs in the First War and rebuilt; the Alliance of Lordaeron won the Second War; and in the Third War the plague of undeath destroyed Lordaeron itself. Many survivors fled south to Stormwind, or across the sea to Kalimdor with Jaina Proudmoore, where they founded Theramore.
Homeland and capital
Human life centres on Elwynn Forest and Stormwind City, with farms and garrisons spreading into Westfall, Redridge and Duskwood, each with troubles of its own. The client describes Stormwind as one of the last bastions of human power, ruled by a child king, so the city runs on regents, nobles and soldiers who each want something from the throne. Further north, the ruins of Lordaeron belong to the Forsaken now, and the Plaguelands to the Scourge.

Allies and enemies
- Allies: the dwarves of Ironforge and the gnomes in exile, the night elves who joined the Alliance, and in Forever the High Order Skyborne.
- Enemies: the Horde, which humans fought in two wars; the Scourge and the Forsaken, who hold the ruins of Lordaeron; the Defias and other bandits in their own lands; and the Syndicate in the north.
- Complicated: the orcs. Many humans still remember the invasions and the internment camps from the other side of the fence.
Language and names
Humans speak Common, the Alliance's shared tongue, and in the client it is their only language: every other Alliance race has a second one. Human names are usually short and familiar-sounding. With Forever's two-part names a human second name can be a family name, a trade or a home village (Goldshire, Lakeshire, Darkshire and Southshore all sound right), or a noble house for a character with pretensions.
Notable figures
The client names Anduin Wrynn as Stormwind's child king. Other famous humans are Warcraft background rather than anything the Forever client or Blizzard's Forever posts describe.
Racial abilities as flavour
Human racials describe a versatile, stubborn people: The Human Spirit for their spirit, Perception for a watchful eye, a soldier's Sword Specialization, and Forever's new Will to Survive, which breaks stuns: the will to get back up. See Races.
In WoW Forever
In WoW Forever: Humans can now be Hunters, one of six new race and class combinations. Blizzard's new stories also reach into human lands: the frontier of the Riverglades east of Redridge, where the Brotherhood of the Horse (Stormwind cavalry who left in disgrace) has made a new home, and Dalaran, the human mage city in Alterac.
RP hooks and character ideas
- A Lordaeron refugee who reached Stormwind with nothing and still can't look at a Forsaken without seeing a neighbour.
- One of Forever's first human hunters: a Westfall farmer's daughter who learned to track wolves when the farms were abandoned.
- A minor noble in Stormwind's court, loyal to the young king, or quietly not.
- A veteran of the Second War who guarded an internment camp and now has to trust orcs to keep the peace.
- A rider of the Brotherhood of the Horse, cast out of Stormwind's cavalry and making a new life in the Riverglades.
- A young mage with an eye on Dalaran, whatever is happening behind its walls.
