Places of Forever's Azeroth
Where your character lives, trades and travels. Forever opens places that were locked or empty in original World of Warcraft and adds one that nobody saw coming. Each new place has its own page; the capitals are below.

Forever's new places
Blizzard sorts its new content into three kinds: places players always wanted to reach (Mount Hyjal), new stories in familiar lands (the Riverglades) and a few surprises (Zephras Isle).
You’ll help restore Hyjal, uncover forgotten history in Shen'dralas, build a future on the Riverglades frontier, and take your first steps through Zephras Isle.
Blizzard: World of Warcraft: Forever What's Next Panel Recap (Blizzard)
- Zephras Isle: the Skyborne's island home and starting zone, levels 1 to 12.
- The Riverglades: a frontier of rivers and grasslands east of the Burning Steppes, for the mid-30s to mid-40s.
- Shen'dralas: a hidden valley between Desolace, Feralas and Mulgore tied to Eldre'Thalas.
- Mount Hyjal: the World Tree's mountain after Archimonde's defeat.
- The Darkspear Islands: a new battleground off Kalimdor's coast.
- Dalaran: the mages' city in Alterac, now a dungeon full of magical trouble.
- Gilneas: in the client, not announced (Speculation).
New dungeons
Blizzard announced nine new dungeons. Four are in the beta client with their bosses so far: the Hall of Thanes beneath Ironforge, the Ruins of Lordaeron, where the Forsaken fight to reclaim their old capital, the excavation site in the Wetlands and the City of Dalaran. Blackmaw Hold in Azshara, the Drowned City, Krol'dok Stronghold in the Riverglades, Alcaz Prison and the Shaper's Terrace in Un'Goro are still to come.
These destinations bring new reasons to revisit familiar corners of the world, from helping the Forsaken reclaim the Ruins of Lordaeron to investigating strange magical trouble in Dalaran, titan mysteries in Un’Goro, naga and pirates around the Drowned City, and unsettling corruption stirring in the depths of Blackmaw Hold.

Speculation: The client also has an instance Blizzard hasn't described: Manor Mistmantle. What it is in Forever's story isn't known yet. (Earlier beta clients also had a Half-Pint Tavern instance; build 1.60.1.70170 removed it.)
The capitals
A note on each capital as it stands in Forever's Year 1. The leaders named here are the ones the client's own faction descriptions name.
Stormwind City (Alliance)
The greatest human city left, and the Alliance's heart. The client names its ruler as the child king Anduin Wrynn, so the court is full of regents, advisers and rivals. Its cathedral, its harbour and the old town give scenes for priests, sailors and veterans alike. Under it lies the Stockade, and the Deadmines are close by in Westfall.
Ironforge (Alliance)
The dwarves' mountain city in Dun Morogh under King Magni, with its Great Forge at the centre. The gnomes of Gnomeregan live here as exiles. Forever's new Hall of Thanes lies beneath it, and the fallen Gnomeregan is a short ride away.
Darnassus (Alliance)
The night elves' city in the branches of Teldrassil, ruled by Tyrande Whisperwind, Priestess of the Moon. Quiet, old and a little aloof: a place of temples, Sentinels and druids.
Orgrimmar (Horde)
The orcs' fortress in Durotar, founded by Thrall, crowded with clans, trolls and tauren. The Horde's seat, loud and proud. Under it is Ragefire Chasm.
Thunder Bluff (Horde)
The tauren capital on the mesas of Mulgore, led by Cairne Bloodhoof. Elders, druids and shaman gather here, linked by rope bridges and wind.
Undercity (Horde)
The Forsaken's city in the crypts under ruined Lordaeron, led by Sylvanas Windrunner. Above it, Forever's Ruins of Lordaeron dungeon is the Forsaken's fight to reclaim the old capital. The client calls their place in the Horde a tenuous alliance.
