How the launch race works
ForeverDB's leaderboards rank WoW Forever's launch race from what players upload. These are the rules.
- Only uploads from a logged-in ForeverDB account count: the ForeverDB Uploader or the addon data you send while logged in. Anonymous uploads never enter the race.
- Places go by when an upload reached our server, not by the time written in the game's saved file. That time is shown as "claimed". The game writes the file when you log out or /reload, so a time is "when it reached us".
- The race opens at launch in each region. Characters with a mark from before the open (the beta) never place; characters made at name reservation do.
- A level reached faster than we think possible after the open, a claimed time before the open or after the upload, or a character held for review (a level above the cap, gear or talent points it can't have) is held until a ForeverDB admin checks it. Held results are never shown.
- Verified: another player's guild roster saw the character at that level, another player's boss kill names it, a second player uploaded the same kill, or a combat log has it. Reported: one player's upload that passed every check.
- Boss firsts come from the Companion addon's boss kills. A clear is timed from entering the dungeon to the last boss's kill, and needs most of its bosses killed on the way.
- Characters already public are on the boards by name; untick Show this character in races and leaderboards to take one off. It still counts, as "a hidden player": its own guild sees the name, nobody else does. The same goes for characters that aren't public.
- No BattleTag, account or guild is shown on a board. In a clear, members who aren't on the boards by name are "+N players".
