Windshaper Skyborne Warrior: your first 10 levels
Updated · ForeverDB
A gentle start for a Windshaper Skyborne Warrior in WoW Forever: where your trainer stands in Thendal Village, your spells up to level 10, your class quests, the racials that help and the best professions.
Written for the WoW Forever beta, for your first 10 levels. Where each person stands comes from what players recorded in WoW Forever wherever we have it. Anything else is marked: "Classic data" means the spot comes from the original game and may have moved in Forever.
Right now
Welcome! You're a Windshaper Skyborne Warrior, and you start in Thendal Village. Here are the three things you need first. Take your time: nothing here is in a rush.
- You appear at 42.8, 23.4 in Thendal Village.
- Your first quest: talk to Ailee Farheart (42.8, 23.4), next to where you appear.
- Your Warrior trainer: players' game data has Blademaster Ren and Corsan Earthrazer as Warrior trainers on the island, but nobody has recorded where they stand yet. Ask a guard or the villagers, and check back: we add spots as soon as someone sees them.
Tip: If you die, that's fine: everyone does. Click Release Spirit, run back to your body as a ghost, and carry on. Fight one enemy at a time and eat or drink between fights.
Playing a Warrior at first
You fight up close with a weapon and a lot of armor. Instead of mana you use Rage: it fills up when you hit and get hit, and you spend it on your attacks.
- Walk up to an enemy and attack. Once you have some Rage, press Heroic Strike.
- Keep Battle Shout on you. It makes you (and friends near you) hit harder.
- From level 4, start each fight with Charge from a distance. It rushes you in and gives you Rage.
Tip: You can't heal yourself, so eat food between fights. That's normal for a Warrior.
Tip: A better weapon is the biggest upgrade you can get. Check the weapon vendor and your quest rewards.
Your spells up to level 10
You start with your level 1 spells. The rest you learn from your trainer, for a few coins, at levels 4, 6, 8, 10. A few come from class quests instead. From the WoW Forever game client:
| Level | Spell | Learned from |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Battle Shout (Rank 1) | Trainer |
| 1 | Battle Stance | Trainer |
| 1 | Heroic Strike (Rank 1) | Trainer |
| 4 | Charge (Rank 1) | Trainer |
| 4 | Rend (Rank 1) | Trainer |
| 6 | Thunder Clap (Rank 1) | Trainer |
| 8 | Hamstring (Rank 1) | Trainer |
| 8 | Heroic Strike (Rank 2) | Trainer |
| 10 | Bloodrage | Trainer |
| 10 | Defensive Stance | Class quest: Path of Defense (Classic quest) |
| 10 | Rend (Rank 2) | Trainer |
| 10 | Sunder Armor (Rank 1) | Class quest: Path of Defense (Classic quest) |
| 10 | Taunt | Class quest: Path of Defense (Classic quest) |
Where your Warrior trainers are
| Where | Trainer | Spot (click for the map) | Walk |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shen'dar Village | Blademaster Ren (seen in Forever) | not mapped yet (our guess: near Taleen Shimmerthread) | - |
| Shen'dar Village | Corsan Earthrazer (seen in Forever) | not mapped yet (our guess: near Miriaan Mistblade) | - |
Walks start from where you appear (the first trainer), the middle of the town (town trainers) or the first town (city trainers).
Your racials as a Warrior
- Elemental Insight: More damage to elementals, which are common on Zephras Isle.
- Read Leyline: Rest faster: your health and mana come back twice as fast. Near one of the island's leylines it lasts much longer.
- Skysight: A little more speed, on foot and mounted. Near a convergence of elements it lasts much longer.
- Walk on Air: Glide gently down instead of falling. Jump off a cliff without getting hurt.
- Wind Blessed: A little haste for everything: faster attacks and faster spells.
Professions
For a Warrior, the best pair is Blacksmithing and Mining. Blacksmithing makes mail armor and weapons you can wear, and sharpening stones for your weapon. Mining digs up the ore Blacksmithing needs, and spare ore sells well.
Tip: Not sure yet? Pick two gathering professions (Herbalism, Mining or Skinning). They make money from the very first herb, vein or beast, and you can swap one for a crafting profession later. Dropping a profession loses its skill, so decide before you've raised it far.
More on this: the best professions for each class.
After level 10
At level 10 you get your first talent point. Our Warrior leveling guide takes you on from there, and the leveling guide shows where to go next. Your first dungeon comes a bit later: see your first dungeon.
