WoW Forever build 1.60.1.70707 datamine: what changed before launch

A refreshed client-data scan compares WoW Forever builds 70685 and 70707 and applies the matching hotfix cache. It finds broad spell and item table updates, while separating file evidence from unverified gameplay claims.

The installed WoW Forever client is now build 1.60.1.70707. We compared its extracted tables with build 70685, then applied the refreshed 70707 hotfix cache. This recovered a wider set of spell and item data changes that the first scan missed when it paired the new client files with the older cache.

Client data, not a complete patch note. These findings show what is present in the extracted files and hotfix cache. They do not prove every change is active in every live ruleset, or establish how a server-side effect behaves in play.

Changes confirmed in the local data

  • Across 166 tables present in both client exports, three tables differ between the 70685 and 70707 base files: GlobalStrings, ModelFileData and SpellDuration.
  • The refreshed 70707 hotfix cache updates 100 exported tables. The extractor applied the cache without skipping hotfix tables.
  • Within the 70707 data, Spell has 31 added, 9 removed and 52 changed rows; SpellEffect has 71 added, 10 removed and 87 changed rows; ItemSparse has 39 added and 4 changed rows.
  • Ice Lance is one inspectable example: several ranks have an 8-second category recovery time, and the effect base points change from 200 to 300.
  • Toughened Leather Armor has changed item stats and quality metadata. New recipe and plan rows also appear in item data.

What the base-file comparison shows

Most raw SpellDuration differences are formatting-level changes: previously null per-level duration fields are now explicit zeroes. Treating null and zero as equivalent leaves nine records with real field changes, including added duration-per-level values for generic duration records 11–20 and Resurrection Sickness record 427. Maximum durations are unchanged. The affected records do not by themselves establish a practical timing change.

GlobalStrings has one removed row and six changed rows. Examples include a subscription prompt changing from “Reactivate Now” to “Activate Now” and a string changing from “Expansion 11” to “Midnight”. Fifteen ModelFileData records have changed bounds or level-of-detail metadata; those edits do not indicate new creatures or content.

Why the earlier scan missed the wider update

The first scan saw client build 70707 files alongside a DBCache still marked 70685. After the client was opened, the cache refreshed and identified itself as 70707. Re-exporting with the matching cache revealed hotfix changes across spell, effect and item tables. The scan process now waits for a settled cache that matches the client build before publishing a new build.

What remains unverified

Third-party reports about class coefficients, diminishing returns, hidden item availability and event timing remain leads until each claim is matched to the refreshed local data or checked in game. An item record does not prove that an item can drop, and event spell records do not establish an event schedule. The scan also lacks three client DB2 sources: SpellIcon, ItemRandomProperties and SpellEffectScaling.

This comparison covers the installed EU build 1.60.1.70707. It is not a comparison of every live realm or ruleset. The earlier 70685 datamine covers the prior client update.
