WoW Forever build 1.60.1.70685 datamine: two Mage talents renamed

· ForeverDB
A comparison of WoW Forever client builds 70658 and 70685 finds two renamed Mage talents, changed spell descriptions, an item level requirement and other client data edits. Here is what the files confirm—and what they cannot prove.
The installed WoW Forever client has moved to build 1.60.1.70685. Comparing its extracted game tables with the previous local snapshot, build 70658, reveals two notable Mage talent changes: Improved Fireball is now Accelerant, and Elemental Precision is now Precision. Both names and descriptions changed in the client data.
From the client files, not official patch notes. This comparison describes data in build 1.60.1.70685. It does not confirm that every client-side change is active on the server or that the server uses the same rules.
The short version
- Mage spell Accelerant changed from Improved Fireball to Accelerant. Its description now includes Arcane Wrath alongside Fireball and Frostfire Bolt.
- Mage spell Precision changed from Elemental Precision to Precision. Its description now says the hit chance bonus applies to all spells, rather than Frost and Fire spells.
- The effect record for Accelerant expanded its spell-class mask, consistent with the additional spell named in its description. Precision's effect record also changed, with its old class mask removed.
- Corrupted Gemstone (item 277154) now requires level 60 in the client data. Its linked quest ID is present, but the extracted quest tables do not reveal the quest's title or purpose.
- No changes appeared in the quest-line membership tables: the known Toxic Soil and PvP Season Journey chain lengths are unchanged.
Mage talents: what changed in 70685
Improved Fireball becomes Accelerant
Spell ID Accelerant is named Improved Fireball in the 70658 snapshot and Accelerant in build 70685. The new tooltip text includes Arcane Wrath as an affected spell in addition to Fireball and Frostfire Bolt. The client effect record's spell-class mask also changes from [1, 4096, 0, 0] to [1, 36864, 0, 0], which is consistent with that broader list.
Elemental Precision becomes Precision
Spell ID Precision changes its name to Precision. Its previous description refers to hit chance with Frost and Fire spells; the new description refers to hit chance with all spells. Its effect record also changes aura type and no longer has the previous spell-class mask. This is a clear client-data change, though it does not by itself prove how the server applies the talent.
Other changes in the installed client
- Corrupted Gemstone (item 277154) now has Required Level 60, up from 0 in the previous snapshot. It still points to quest ID 96265, but the available quest tables do not expose enough text to identify the quest.
- Skyborne Feather and Feather Color customization controls were reordered. Some choices now point to new requirement records, but those records contain no readable unlock condition, so this does not confirm new colors became available.
- Three Frost Blast spell IDs lost their Frost skill-line ability mappings. Their spell-name records remain, so this indicates a change to those mappings rather than confirmed spell removal.
- Twenty-one item-detail rows are missing from ItemSparse, while those item IDs remain in the Item table. This is not evidence that the items themselves were removed.
- Several trait and achievement-criteria records changed or disappeared. The affected records are not yet traced to a specific player-visible Forever system, so their gameplay effect is unknown.
Quest chains are unchanged in these tables
Build 70685 still contains 6,614 QuestV2 records. QuestLine and QuestLineXQuest match the previous snapshot: no quest-line membership or chain changes were found. The Toxic Soil line still has 11 quests, and PvP Season Journey still has 10. This comparison cannot identify the content of every individual quest because the extracted quest tables do not contain their titles and objectives.
How we checked
We extracted the installed 1.60.1.70685 client tables, applied its local hotfix cache, and compared them with our previous build 70658 snapshot. Of the 166 tables compared, 20 had differences. Some differences are clear text or requirement changes; others are low-level metadata whose in-game effect cannot be established from client files alone.
