The Forever beta client files include two new companion pets tied to capital cities: Baby Crocolisk and Excitable Slime. Both are marked as new in the beta data. Wowhead has written up how players are getting each. Blizzard has not posted about them, so the methods below are reports, not confirmed by Blizzard or by the game files.
The pet items are in the beta client files. How you earn them is reported by Wowhead and players, not a Blizzard statement, and is not in the client data we can check.
Baby Crocolisk in Stormwind
In the beta files Baby Crocolisk is a new uncommon companion, usable at any level. Wowhead reports that Alliance players get it by defeating the Sewer Beast, which patrols the Stormwind canals. It says the Sewer Beast is a level 50 elite on the beta, and that large raid groups have brought it down.
The Sewer Beast is in our files as a level 50 elite, but that matches its Classic Era data, so treat the level and rank as a Classic baseline rather than a confirmed Forever value. Our files do not show what the Sewer Beast drops.
Excitable Slime in Undercity
In the beta files Excitable Slime is a new common companion. Wowhead reports that Horde players can get it in Undercity without a raid group, but that the steps take some working out. It says you buy Nutritious Slime Sludge from an NPC named Boyle in Undercity, at around /way 56.2 64.6, then jump into the canal to use it.
In the client files the Nutritious Slime Sludge is a simple food that restores 28 health over 15 seconds while you stay seated. Its part in earning the pet is not in the game data. Wowhead's write-up in our source is cut off before the full steps, so follow their article for the rest.
These are beta finds. The pets, their sources and the steps to earn them can all change before launch.
