WoW Forever’s last-minute class reworks: video claims checked against build 70707

· ForeverDB
SignsOfKelani runs through late Paladin and Druid reworks and changes to Priest, Mage, Warlock and Warrior. We compare the full rundown with the refreshed client data and a separate hotfix report, and flag points that still need in-game confirmation.
This is a community video by SignsOfKelani, not an official Blizzard announcement. We checked the major spell and talent examples against the installed WoW Forever client build 1.60.1.70707 and its matching hotfix cache. Client files confirm data entries, not every server-side interaction or whether a hotfix will remain unchanged at launch. The separate hotfix roundup linked below describes these changes as live hotfixes that were not confirmed in development notes.

The video’s biggest sections are Protection, Retribution and Holy Paladin, followed by Restoration and Feral Druid. It also covers Priest, Mage, Warlock and Warrior. Below is a fuller checklist than our first version of this article, which only summarized the headline changes.
Paladin: all three trees change
Protection
- The video reports Redoubt rising from 20% to 30% block chance; Improved Righteous Fury’s damage reduction rising from 2/4/6% to 3/6/9%; and Righteous Fury providing 33% general threat plus 90% additional threat from Holy attacks.
- Shieldsworn is a new capstone. The video says it cuts Holy Strike’s cooldown by four seconds; the resulting six-second strike hits with the shield and can trigger Holy Shield and Shield Specialization without spending their charges or cooldowns. It also grants six seconds of spell block, according to the video; the uptime and interactions still need in-game testing.
- Shield Specialization has two ranks instead of three for the same maximum values. Holy Shield moves from row 7 to row 5 and no longer requires Templar’s Bulwark. Templar’s Bulwark itself moves earlier and can be dispelled by magic according to the hotfix roundup.
- Swift Judgement is reworked as a separate one-minute Judgement. Seal of Fury’s taunt duration drops from four seconds to three, and Improved Seal of Fury is removed from the tree. Iron Creed becomes three ranks, with up to 30% more Holy Strike threat and 6% damage reduction instead of 10%.
- Sacred Duty loses its Stamina bonus and reduces Forbearance by five or ten seconds across its two ranks, and moves to row 2. Divine Intellect moves into Protection. Toughness moves from row 1 to 3, Templar’s Bulwark from row 5 to 3, Improved Hammer of Justice from row 4 to 3, and Anticipation from row 2 to 4. One-Handed Specialization is removed and new row-5 Stoicism reduces stun and charm durations.
Retribution
- Unsealed Wrath stores up to three melee-swing stacks of the active seal, then releases them when you attack with a different seal. The burst and seal-swap interactions need live testing.
- Conviction drops from five ranks to three and reaches 6% crit for spells and attacks, instead of 5% melee crit. Champion of the Light takes five ranks instead of three, retains its 60%-of-Intellect spell-power cap, and reduces Hammer of Wrath’s cast time by one second.
- Two-Handed Weapon Specialization now increases physical damage by up to 6% and reduces threat by 20%. Vindication no longer increases your own attack power. Turn Evil gains a shorter cast and cooldown and can affect demons, according to the video.
- The video also describes tree moves: Vengeance to row 5, Unyielding Faith from Holy to Retribution, Sanctified Judgment to row 2, Sacred Arbiter to a different position in row 4, and Repentance to a different position in row 5.
Holy
- Oath of Light lets you designate an ally whose healing from Holy Light, Flash of Light and Holy Shock is increased. Boundless Light adds 30% Holy Shock critical chance against targets without your Oath, as described in the video.
- Holy Power now increases the critical-heal bonus by up to 50% rather than increasing critical chance. Light’s Vigil works only on friendly targets. Divine Precision is two ranks for up to 8% Holy spell hit (down from 18%) and makes silences 20% shorter; Spiritual Focus becomes five ranks for the same 70% maximum chance; Improved Seals becomes five ranks for the same 15% maximum bonus; Reverence becomes two ranks for the same maximum effect and moves to row 2.
- Voice of Truth is removed from the talent tree and learned from a trainer, according to the video. The remaining Holy row changes are: Illumination from row 4 to 3; Holy Conduit joins from Retribution on row 3; Divine Strength stays on row 1 but changes position; Purifying Power moves from row 3 to 2; Divine Favor from row 4 to 3; Infusion of Light shifts on row 4; and Consecrated Ground shifts on row 5.
- The video says Blessing of Light, Greater Blessing of Light, Salvation and Mass Salvation are removed from the spellbook. Its captions also say ‘Revoke’; that name is unclear, so we have not treated it as a verified ability change.
Druid: major Restoration and Feral changes
- Moonkin Aura and Leader of the Pack are reported to grant 3% critical chance to all damage types, combining the former spell-only and melee/ranged-only bonuses. Genesis doubles to 2/4/6/8/10% periodic damage and healing.
- Restoration’s Wild Growth becomes a three-second cast. Naturalist adds up to 10% damage and reduces Wild Growth’s cast time by 0.5 seconds. Bloom replaces Gift of the Earth Mother: the video says Rejuvenation or Regrowth heals for 100% of your Spirit when it expires, or 50% if dispelled. Swiftmend now requires and consumes your own Rejuvenation or Regrowth. Heart of the Wild moves to Restoration row 1, where Furor previously sat; Reflection and Subtlety swap places.
- Ferocious Bite is learned at level 24. Lacerate becomes a row-4 talent under Savage Fury. The lower Feral tree splits: Predatory Discipline makes Ferocious Bite retain its bonus damage without spending extra Energy, leading to Shifting Power; the other path runs through Leader of the Pack to Primal Bite. Shifting Power is an eight-second cooldown, and Improved Shifting Power is removed. Primal Bite’s damage rises to 42/62/77, from 26/38/59, and it is the capstone on that branch.
- Correction to our first version: Berserk is removed from the Feral talent tree; it is not renamed into Primal Bite. The two are separate changes. Furor moves into Feral row 1. Predatory Strikes moves to row 4, Rend and Tear to row 6 beneath it, and Natural Reaction shifts on row 6.
Priest, Mage, Warlock and Warrior
- Priests can cast Cure Disease and Abolish Disease in Shadowform. Binding Heal leaves the talent tree and becomes baseline; Holy Binding makes Flash Heal also heal you when cast on another player. Shadow Word: Death backlash rises from 10% to 30% of maximum health.
- Arcane Mage: Arcane Blast’s bonus falls from 15% to 12% of Intellect per stack, while its mana-cost increase drops from 175% to 100% and the buff lasts 18 rather than 15 seconds. Arcane Resilience gains a third rank and reaches 75% of Intellect as armor; it moves to row 1, Missile Barrage to row 2, and Arcane Focus is removed.
- Fire Mage: Improved Fireball is renamed Accelerant and also shortens Arcane Wrath’s cast. Critical Mass caps at 6% crit at rank 3 instead of 10% at rank 5; Improved Fire Blast moves to row 3; Incineration reaches 10% crit for Fire Blast, Ice Lance, Arcane Blast and Scorch at rank 5.
- Frost Mage: Arctic Reach also extends Ice Lance range. Ice Barrier grants 15% Frost damage, plus 5% while its shield holds; Winter’s Chill makes the next Cone of Cold deal 20% more damage per stack; Ice Lance deals 300% bonus damage to frozen targets and has an eight-second cooldown. Precision is renamed from Elemental Precision and now increases hit chance for all spells.
- Warlock Improved Drains now increases mana drained by Drain Mana instead of increasing Wrack damage. Warrior Revenge gains attack-power scaling at 25% at every rank.
The supplied transcript does not discuss Rogue or Shaman changes. That is a limit of this video’s coverage, not evidence that those classes received no hotfixes.
A Hunter change also appears in the hotfix roundup
The video’s class rundown does not cover Hunters. The separate live-hotfix roundup reports Beast Mastery Pathfinding moving from row 2 to row 3. We include it here as related context, not as a claim made in the video.
What this means for your build
Recheck your talent plan after logging in. Several trees have changed rank counts, prerequisites and row locations, and some spell effects have changed substantially. Older beta screenshots and build guides may no longer match. Our build 1.60.1.70707 datamine explains the refreshed cache used for this check.
Numbers and talent entries can be checked in client files; live threat generation, interactions, uptime, balance and launch status still need in-game confirmation. The Wowhead hotfix roundup reports these as changes applied to live Forever servers but not confirmed in development notes, and says they remain subject to change.
