Savory Whimsyfin Delight: a new cooked transformation in the Forever beta client

· ForeverDB
The WoW Forever beta client holds a new cooking consumable, Savory Whimsyfin Delight, that transforms your character for an hour. Wowhead reports the form you get depends on your Body Type: a Murloc or an Ogre.
The WoW Forever beta client has a new cooking consumable, Savory Whimsyfin Delight. Using it casts Savory Whimsyfin Delight, which transforms your character. In the files the transform lasts one hour (3,600,000 ms). Its tooltip reads "Eat me." and the buff reads "You feel funny.", the same lines Classic Era's Savory Deviate Delight uses.
This is beta client data. Anything here can still change before launch.
What the client shows
- The consumable Savory Whimsyfin Delight is a common food. Using it has no cast time and applies the hour-long transform.
- You cook it with the spell Savory Whimsyfin Delight, which needs Cooking skill 85 and a cooking fire. The reagents are one Whimsyfin (Whimsyfin) and one Mild Spices.
- You learn the recipe from Recipe: Savory Whimsyfin Delight, an uncommon drop.
- The raw Whimsyfin (Whimsyfin) is itself edible. In the client its "Eat me." use effect is the same one Classic Era's Deviate Fish uses (Deviate Fish), which gives a random result.
Murloc or Ogre, by Body Type
Reported by Wowhead, not a Blizzard change or statement. The two forms and the recipe's drop source are Wowhead's datamining, and we can't confirm them in the game files.
Wowhead reports that the form you get depends on your character's Body Type: Body Type 1 turns you into a Murloc, and Body Type 2 into an Ogre. They also report that the recipe can drop from random mobs such as Great Goretusk in Redridge Mountains. The client holds a single transform effect for the item, so which creature you become is decided in game. We can't read the two models or the drop source from the files.
How it compares to Classic Era
In Classic Era, Savory Deviate Delight turns you into a ninja or a pirate at random. Forever's version keeps the joke but, by Wowhead's account, ties the result to your Body Type instead of chance. Either way it is a cosmetic transformation, not a combat buff.
