Ahab Wheathoof and Kyle: Blizzard is working on bringing the Make-A-Wish quest to Forever

· ForeverDB
“Kyle's Gone Missing!”, the Mulgore quest designed by Make-A-Wish child Ezra Chatterton, isn't in WoW Forever because it came with The Burning Crusade. Kaivax says Blizzard is “working on it”. It isn't in the current beta client yet.
In The Burning Crusade, a Mulgore quest was added in which the Tauren Ahab Wheathoof asks you to find his hungry dog, Kyle the Frenzied, and feed him. The quest, “Kyle's Gone Missing!”, was designed by Ezra Chatterton, a boy who got his wish to create a World of Warcraft quest through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Ezra died in 2008, and the quest has been a tribute to him ever since.
WoW Forever is built on Classic, so Ahab and Kyle aren't in the beta, and players have asked for them since the first week (US thread, EU thread). On September 28 community manager Kaivax replied in both with the same words:
We’re working on it. Stay tuned! Kaivax, Blizzard community manager
That's all Blizzard has said so far: no date, and no word on whether the quest comes back as it was or changed. Wowhead covered it as well.
What the client files show
Nothing yet. The beta client (build 1.60.1.70009) has no quest record for “Kyle's Gone Missing!” (quest 11129 in The Burning Crusade), no Tender Strider Meat (the item you feed Kyle) and no spells for the quest. Most NPC names aren't stored in the client, so we can't check Ahab and Kyle directly. We'll check each new build and update this page when the quest shows up.
Speculation: the quest was built for The Burning Crusade's version of Mulgore, so it may need some rework to fit Forever's Classic-based zone and levels. Blizzard hasn't said how or when it will add it.
Levelling a Tauren meanwhile? Every quest we know of in the zone is on our Mulgore quests page.
