Your WoW Forever journal

A timeline of your character's big decisions and moments, written down by itself as you play: levels, talents, professions, crafts, gear, dungeon clears, deaths and gold. Add your reasons to any of it, and the journal works out your next steps from what you did.

What it records

• Levels: Each level with the time it took you, played, and where you were.
• Talents: Every point you put in, a line per sitting, and every respec with what it cost.
• Professions: Learned, dropped, every 25 points, each new rank, the recipes you learn and the crafts you make.
• Gear: Upgrades as you put them on, with the item level before and after, and enchants. Swapping back and forth is left out.
• Dungeons: Each clear from the Runs page, with its time, wipes and your best time.
• Deaths: Where you died, so a zone that keeps killing you stands out.
• Gold: What came in and went out at each level, and where: vendors and repairs, trainers, the auction house, flights, quests, loot and the mail.
• Your notes: A "Why?" on any line for your reasons, and notes of your own: a plan, a decision, how it went.
• Your other characters: Every character on your PC keeps its own journal. Switch between them at the top of the page.

Next steps, worked out for you

At the top of the page, from your journal and the rest of the ForeverDB Helper:

• Talent points you still have to spend.
• Your profession's way to the top of its rank: crafts still to make, materials still to get with what they cost at vendors, and your own crafts per point against ForeverDB's model.
• When to train the next rank, or the level it waits for.
• Your gold an hour over your last levels, and whether you'll have enough for Classic's first mount at level 40 at that pace.
• Your pace: how long your last level took against the ones before it.
• Deaths this week, and the zone most of them were in.
• The slots where a better item for your level exists, from the Best gear page.
• Each step has a + To-do button: it goes into your to-do for today, with its note and a link to the guide.

The mount's cost is Classic's (about 90 gold with the riding skill): Forever's may differ.

How to open it

1. Install or update the ForeverDB addon: the Helper comes in the same download.
2. In the game, click the ForeverDB button by the minimap, then Journal in the side menu. Or type /fdh journal.
3. Play: the journal starts the first time you log in with it, and fills in as you go.

Private by default

Your journal stays in the Helper's saved file on your PC. It isn't uploaded or sent to anyone, and no other player can see it. Turn it off, or clear it, in the Helper's Settings.
