Warrior in WoW: Forever: what the datamine says is coming

· ForeverDB
What the Forever beta client and official posts reveal for Warriors: 2 new abilities, 34 new class items.
Speculation. This outlook is built from datamined Forever beta client data (build 1.60.1.70170) and official Blizzard posts. The beta is capped at level 30; anything above that isn't playable yet and can change.
What Blizzard changed this week
From the official WoW Forever Beta Development Notes – Updated September 24 (Kaivax, 2026-09-24):
- Sunder Armor: Corrected the threat values on all ranks, including a small increase to threat generated from Attack Power.
Protection
- Swapped the positions of the Bastion (Row 5) and Focused Rage (Row 6) talents.
We wanted to give players Focused Rage sooner to smooth out progression, as opposed to more damage from Bastion. This should smooth out some of the feeling while leveling as Protection before obtaining Shield Slam. Kaivax, WoW Forever Beta Development Notes – Updated September 24
Arms
- Bloodthrill’s chance to activate increased to 4/8/12/16/20% (was 2/4/6/8/10%).
- Bloodthrill only activates off of Main Hand melee attacks. This includes Cleave and Heroic Strike.
- Slam’s cooldown has been increased to 18 seconds (was 15 seconds).
- Improved Slam now reduces the cooldown of Slam by 1.5/3 seconds.
New abilities in the client
2 Warrior abilities exist in the Forever client but not in Classic Era:
- Tactical Mastery — level 14 — available in the beta now. You retain up to 10 Rage when you change Stances.
- Slam — level 20 — available in the beta now. Slams the opponent, causing weapon damage plus 87.
What levels 31 to 40 bring
Speculation: Blizzard hasn't announced the next level cap or when it comes. Forever's caps have gone up ten levels at a time so far, so this is what levels 31 to 40 hold in the client.
- Talent points go from 21 to 31, which opens talent tier 7 of a tree (up from tier 5).
- New abilities between level 31 and 40: Whirlwind (36), Pummel (38).
- 15 higher ranks of existing abilities also become trainable in that range.
- Talents that come into reach include Improved Hamstring, Mortal Strike, Flurry, Improved Slam, Gore Drinker, Bastion, Bloodthirst, Shield Slam.

Our read (speculation)
Level 30 looks like the point where the Warrior kit fills out. Intimidating Shout, Execute, Challenging Shout, Shield Wall, Berserker Stance and Intercept all sit between levels 22 and 30, so leveling Warriors would gain a finisher and a charge that stuns, while tanks get their emergency tools. With 21 talent points, tier 5 opens, home to the one-point Sweeping Strikes, Death Wish and Concussion Blow. Tactical Mastery is already a level 14 trainer skill, with an Improved Tactical Mastery talent on top, which should make stance swapping cheaper once Berserker Stance joins the mix.
Blizzard's notes this week sketch where Arms and Protection are heading. Slam is a level 20 ability with a cooldown in Forever; that cooldown just went up to 18 seconds, and Improved Slam, which shortens it, now sits in the sixth row of the Arms tree, so Slam reads as a timed hit rather than a filler to spam, and a better fit for Arms than for Fury. Bloodthrill, a fifth-row Arms talent, procs twice as often, 4% to 20% across its five ranks in the client, but only from main-hand attacks, which could favor two-handers or a strong main hand. For Protection, Blizzard says Focused Rage moves ahead of Bastion to ease leveling before Shield Slam, although the current client still lists Bastion in row 5 and Focused Rage in row 6; the Sunder Armor threat correction fits the same goal of a smoother leveling tank.
Forever's talent window also fills gaps the old data left: Iron Will now sits in Fury's second row, Defiance and the new Master of Defense in Protection's third, and a new Vanguard talent lets Charge work in Defensive Stance, which suggests stance limits still apply even though the client's ability data doesn't list them. Spearing Strike, a new attack that sits in the fourth row of the Arms tree from level 25, deals extra damage to Giants, Dragonkin and mounted targets and knocks riders off their mounts, which could make it a handy world PvP tool. The 34 Warrior-only items are all level 45 or higher and mostly named after PvP ranks, so they say little about leveling.
