Character creation shows matching icons again when you toggle Standard Definition models

· ForeverDB
The October 1 beta build makes the character creation screen show matching icons when the Standard Definition (Classic) model toggle is on. Blizzard listed the fix in its updated development notes. Other sites report that only the High Definition portraits showed before.
What Blizzard changed
Blizzard put a new build on the WoW Forever beta on October 1. The change log, posted by Kaivax in the updated development notes, lists this fix:
Character Creation will display matching icons when Standard Definition models are toggled. Kaivax, Community Manager
In plain terms: if you turn on the Standard Definition (Classic) model toggle on the character creation screen, the race icons now match that choice instead of staying on the High Definition look. This was in the same build as the skinning revert and other changes in our October 1 build write-up.
What players and other sites reported
Wowhead reports that before this build the character creation screen only showed the High Definition portraits for every race, even with the Standard Definition/Classic toggle on, and that Blizzard added the SD portraits back "after popular demand". Wowhead also says content creators such as Xaryu have been asking Blizzard for a full Classic toggle for the whole UI.
Player and site reports, not a Blizzard statement. Blizzard's note confirms the fix but does not mention popular demand, the earlier state, or any plan for a full Classic UI toggle. Character creation art is not in the beta client's data files, so the game files cannot show the before or after either way.
What it means for players: those who opt into the Classic toggle now see icons that match the Standard Definition models on the character creation screen. It is a small UI fix, but it is the kind of Classic parity that toggle users have been pushing for.
