Blizzard has closed the WoW Forever beta after five weeks and thanked everyone who tested it. Over the next few days the team works on priority issues and the game service, character creation opens on October 27, and the podcast continues. Wowhead reports a separate beta stats tool.

The WoW Forever beta is over. On October 23 Kaivax posted a thank-you message on the forums closing the test after about five weeks, and set out what happens before launch on November 4.

The WoW Forever Beta is now closed, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us over the last five weeks of playtesting, data gathering, bug reporting, and feedback. Kaivax, Community Manager

The days before launch

Blizzard says the next few days go to priority issues and the game service, so it holds up on launch day.

We’re now quickly moving into a period of a few short days where we will do some focused work on priority issues and the game service itself, so that it will be in good shape for launch day on November 4. Kaivax, Community Manager

Character creation opens October 27

You will not have to wait for launch to make your big choices. Character creation opens on Tuesday, October 27, so you can pick your ruleset and claim your name before November 4.

And of course, we’ll open access to the character creation system on Tuesday, October 27, allowing everyone plenty of time to select the ruleset that will define your journey and snag the name that best fits your adventurer. Kaivax, Community Manager

The podcast continues

The WoW Forever Podcast carries on next week. Blizzard points players to the earlier episodes: unpacking the beta launch with Xaryu, speed-running classes with sodapoppin, a dungeon episode with Hammerdancegaming, a PvP episode with TipsOutBaby and Savix, and an end-of-beta special.

Beta stats tool

Separately, Wowhead reports a tool that shows your personal beta stats, such as hours played, the mob that killed you most, and how many times you jumped, with a customisable image you can share. It says the beta ended at 10:00 AM PDT.

The stats tool is reported by Wowhead, not described in the thank-you post. We have not seen a Blizzard forum post in our data about it, so treat the details as a report until Blizzard posts them.

Blizzard signs off thanking players again and looking ahead to November 4.

We’re really looking forward to seeing you on November 4! Thank you very much! Kaivax, Community Manager
