After players datamined art assets for mounts, pets and cosmetics from the latest beta build, Blizzard said on the forums that these assets are not intended for this version of the game. Finding a model in the files does not mean it is coming to Forever.

On October 16, Community Manager Kaivax posted a short note on the WoW Forever forums after players datamined a batch of art assets from the latest beta build. The message is that these assets are not meant for Forever. You can read the full post here.

A number of art assets were recently datamined in the latest Beta build of WoW Forever. While we appreciate the feedback and discussion online, please be advised that these assets are not intended for this version of World of Warcraft. Kaivax, Community Manager

What was found

Wowhead reported that the latest build revealed several mounts, pets and cosmetics, with one, a "Spectral Wolf Pack" mount, said to let party members ride along. Wowhead notes many of the models will look familiar to Retail players and that their discovery only confirms the models exist in the files, not that they will be released.

The item list and the "Spectral Wolf Pack" detail are a Wowhead report, not a Blizzard change or statement. We have not verified the individual models against our own client data, so we are not listing them as Forever items.

What it means for players

A model sitting in the beta client is not a promise. Game files often carry art that is unused, placeholder, or shared from other versions of World of Warcraft, and Blizzard has now said plainly that these assets are not intended for Forever. Treat screenshots of these mounts and pets as datamining, not as confirmed rewards.

Speculation. Any claim that these mounts, pets or cosmetics are coming to WoW Forever is speculation. Blizzard's post says the opposite: the assets are not intended for this version of the game.
