Paladins
Holy warriors who fight with steel and the Light. For most of Warcraft's history they have belonged to the Alliance. In Forever, a few of the dead have taken up the Light too, and their own people don't trust them.

Who can be one, and where they learn
Alliance: Human, Dwarf. Horde: Undead (new in Forever).
Trainers (Classic's data) in Ironforge, Stormwind City.
Class quests: The Tome of Divinity (level 12, teaches Redemption, Classic's quest); The Tome of Valor (level 20, teaches Sense Undead, Classic's quest).
The client's character-creation text: Paladins do battle to protect the world from the forces of shadow. Powerful warriors in their own right, they can also call upon the Light to heal wounds, create shields of force, and incinerate evil creatures.
Who they are
A paladin is a soldier whose faith has become a weapon: someone who can heal, shield and smite as easily as swing a hammer. They exist to stand against darkness, and they tend to measure themselves by how well they live up to that.
Paladins do battle to protect the world from the forces of shadow.
From the game client: Paladin, the class description in the WoW Forever client
Warcraft background: The first paladins were the Knights of the Silver Hand, founded in Lordaeron by Archbishop Alonsus Faol and led by Uther the Lightbringer, to fight the orcish Horde in the Second War. The order was shattered in the Third War when Prince Arthas, himself a paladin, fell to the Lich King and killed Uther. Human and dwarven paladins carry on the tradition; some fight the Scourge with the Argent Dawn, others the Scarlet Crusade's fanatical way.
Their place in Azeroth now
In Year 1 paladins are tied to the Scourge. The Plaguelands are full of undead, and the paladins who survived Lordaeron have a personal debt to settle. Alliance paladins train in the cathedral of Stormwind and in Ironforge. Their great epic mount quest at level 60 is known as a quest of Redemption.
In WoW Forever: Forsaken paladins
In WoW Forever: Undead can now be paladins, one of Forever's six new race and class combinations, and Blizzard has given them a story. Forsaken paladins were paladins in life; after Warcraft III's Forsaken Kingdom campaign, they are learning to channel the Light in undeath while other Forsaken treat them with deep suspicion. Their home is Bandarion Keep in the Whispering Wood of Tirisfal Glades.
Bandarion Keep in the Whispering Wood of Tirisfal Glades becomes a key location for that experience, grounding the Forsaken Paladin Journey in a local struggle for acceptance, identity, and purpose.
Blizzard: World of Warcraft: Forever Found Photos Panel Recap (Blizzard)
At level 60 they have an epic mount quest of their own. Alliance paladins ride in the name of Redemption; Blizzard says the Forsaken ride in the name of Retribution. That one word says a lot about how the two kinds of paladin see the world.
Speculation: The client's trainer data is Classic's and has no Horde paladin trainers, so where Forsaken paladins train isn't known yet. Bandarion Keep is the likely place (our reading).
RP hooks and character ideas
- A Forsaken paladin who remembers kneeling in Uther's order and wonders whether the Light remembers them.
- A Silver Hand survivor who can't forgive the Forsaken, and has just met one wielding the Light.
- A dwarf paladin of Ironforge, as stubborn in faith as in everything else.
- A young human squire who idolises the old knights and knows nothing of what really happened in Lordaeron.
- A paladin torn between the Argent Dawn's discipline and the Scarlet Crusade's zeal.
- A Forsaken who wants Retribution for what the Scourge did to them, and calls it justice.
