PAX Aus: Holly Longdale and Clay Stone will show one of Forever's new dungeons, live on October 8/9

· ForeverDB
Blizzard's PAX Aus keynote on October 9 (AEDT) includes an “exclusive dungeon deep dive” into one of WoW Forever's new dungeons, streamed on Twitch. Blizzard hasn't said which dungeon. Here are the times, and which of the nine announced dungeons are already in the beta client.
World of Warcraft: Forever will be at PAX Aus from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 October (AEDT). Executive producer Holly Longdale opens the show with the Storytime keynote, and associate production director Clay Stone joins her on stage. From Blizzard's announcement:
Holly will be joined on stage by World of Warcraft associate production director Clay Stone, who will share an in-depth look at one of the new dungeons being added in World of Warcraft: Forever. Clay will provide the audience with a behind-the-scenes look into the development team's design philosophy, creative process, and approach to building new gameplay experiences along with an exclusive dungeon deep dive. Blizzard Entertainment
Holly will also talk about her two decades in the games industry, the evolution of the Warcraft universe, and the role of online player communities in MMOs.
When to watch
The keynote streams live on the Warcraft and PAX Twitch channels:
- Americas: Thursday 8 October, 6:00–7:30 p.m. PDT (9:00–10:30 p.m. EDT)
- Europe: Friday 9 October, 2:00–3:30 a.m. BST
- Australia: Friday 9 October, 12:00–1:30 p.m. AEDT
At the show itself: a developer meet-and-greet and signing session with Holly and Clay on Friday from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. AEDT, and a Forever booth all weekend where visitors can play the beta, do a “Raid for Riches” quest card for a Pinny Arcade pin (one per person, while stocks last) and enter a prize draw.
Which dungeon?
Blizzard hasn't said. At BlizzCon it announced nine new dungeons (full list). Here is what the beta client (build 1.60.1.70009) has for each:
- Playable in the beta now (level cap 20): The Hall of Thanes (13–18) and Ruins of Lordaeron (15–20).
- In the client as dungeon maps, but above the cap: Excavation Site: Wetlands (24–29) and City of Dalaran (28–33).
- Only an outdoor area so far: Krol'dok Stronghold (40–45) has a new area record for its exterior, and there's a new “The Shaper's Terrace” area in Un'Goro Crater. Neither has a dungeon map yet.
- Nothing in the client yet: The Drowned City (35–40), Alcaz Prison (48–53) and Blackmaw Hold (55–60). The names Alcaz Island and Blackmaw Hold already exist as Classic areas, but there's no new dungeon map for either.
Speculation: “an in-depth look” and “exclusive” suggest a dungeon players haven't seen yet. That would rule out the Hall of Thanes and Ruins of Lordaeron. Excavation Site: Wetlands and City of Dalaran are the next two in level order and are already built in the client. Blizzard plans to raise the beta cap to 30 later in the beta, which would make both playable. Blizzard hasn't said which dungeon it will show, or that any of this is linked.
We'll update this page after the keynote. All dungeons, with bosses and quests from the client, are on our dungeons page.
