Druid in WoW: Forever: what the datamine says is coming

Druid talent tree paintings from the WoW Forever client

What the Forever beta client and official posts reveal for Druids: 2 new abilities, 120 new class items.

Speculation. This outlook is built from datamined Forever beta client data (build 1.60.1.70170) and official Blizzard posts. The beta is capped at level 30; anything above that isn't playable yet and can change.

What Blizzard changed this week

From the official WoW Forever Beta Development Notes – Updated September 24 (Kaivax, 2026-09-24):

  • Corrected an issue and now Rejuvenation can land critical hits.
  • Corrected an issue and now Tranquility can land critical hits.
  • Wrath base damage increased ~50%.
  • Thorns will now dynamically update its values based on the caster’s spell power.
  • If the caster cannot be found or is too far away, Thorns reverts to its base values.

Feral

  • Mangle has been renamed Primal Bite. Its signature debuff has been removed, so the former name no longer accurately represented the ability.
  • All talents referencing Mangle now reference Primal Bite.
  • The Primal Fury talent has been renamed and the icon replaced with the original Blood Frenzy name and icon.
  • Fixed a bug where Feral Charge (Cat) could be cast on allies.

Restoration

  • Corrected an issue and now Wild Growth can land critical hits.

New abilities in the client

2 Druid abilities exist in the Forever client but not in Classic Era:

  • Revive — level 12 — available in the beta now. Brings a dead player back to life with 750 health and 1000 mana.
  • Lacerate — level 42 — above the current cap (a former Season of Discovery rune, now a class ability). Lacerates the enemy target, making them bleed for 75 damage over 15 sec plus 10% weapon damage per existing application of Lacerate on the target.

What levels 31 to 40 bring

Speculation: Blizzard hasn't announced the next level cap or when it comes. Forever's caps have gone up ten levels at a time so far, so this is what levels 31 to 40 hold in the client.

Talent trees

Tuning signals in the spell data

18 Druid spell ranks carry a different spell-power coefficient than in Classic Era. The biggest moves:

Druid-only gear that's new in Forever

Our read (speculation)

For Feral Druids, the level 30 cap is when Forever's new talent tree opens up. Feral Charge is a tier 3 Feral talent from level 20, and Primal Bite, the renamed Mangle, is a tier 4 talent from 25 that needs Savage Fury at 2/2. Tier 5 at 30 offers Leader of the Pack, the new Predatory Instincts and the new Improved Shifting Power. Blizzard's 1 October notes removed King of the Jungle and Tiger's Fury and added Shifting Power, a tier 4 Cat Form talent that, in Blizzard's words, converts 55% of base Mana into 40 Energy on a 16 second cooldown. The notes' rename of Primal Fury back to Blood Frenzy is in the client too, in Feral tier 4, and Berserk, the capstone at 40, lets Primal Bite hit 3 targets with no cooldown. Shred, Rake, Dash, Cower and Travel Form arrive between 22 and 30.

Balance and Restoration changes lean toward leveling comfort. The new tree moves Insect Swarm into Balance and Swiftmend up to Restoration tier 4, and Omen of Clarity is now a trainer passive every Druid learns at 20. Wrath's base damage rose about 50% this week, Thorns now scales with spell power, and Rejuvenation, Tranquility and Wild Growth can now crit. The 18 coefficient changes lift early Wrath and Healing Touch ranks the most, which helps both leveling and downranking. Revive at 12 gives Druids an out-of-combat resurrection early on, and Talons of Wrath, a level 40 idol that can refund mana on Wrath casts, suggests Blizzard sees Wrath as a real leveling spell.

Druids have the most class gear of any class in the client: 120 items, with three PvP set lines (Sanctuary, Refuge and Wildhide) and idols from level 1 upward, which fits a hybrid expected to cover several roles. Blizzard also says Skyborne get Druid forms made just for them. The Deep Dive recap lists Improved Mark of the Wild among talents made baseline, and the client's new talent tree no longer has it, though its old rank spells are still in the files and nothing shows Mark of the Wild getting the bonus on its own.
