How do you get into the WoW Forever beta?

The WoW Forever beta is over: it closed on 23 October 2026 (Blizzard, 23 Oct 2026). Players got in one of two ways: opt in for a chance to be picked, or buy an eligible bundle, the Skyborne Epic Pack or the Warcraft Forever Collection (Blizzard, 17 Sep 2026) (Blizzard, 12 Sep 2026).

How players got in

When the beta ran

The beta opened on 17 September 2026 and closed on 23 October, after a last celebration day on 22 October (Blizzard, 17 Sep 2026) (Blizzard, 23 Oct 2026). Launch follows on 4 November (Blizzard, 17 Sep 2026).

The level cap

The cap was 20 when the beta opened, with 30 promised later in the beta (Blizzard, 17 Sep 2026). Blizzard took the beta offline on 1 October and brought it back with a new build and the cap raised to 30 (Blizzard, 1 Oct 2026) (Blizzard, 1 Oct 2026).

WoW Forever opens with the whole journey to level 60. ForeverDB's data covers levels up to 30 for now, from the live client (build 1.60.1.70707), and moves to 60 at launch. What changed at level 30 in the beta.

Two licenses on one Battle.net account

Some players with more than one WoW license found that a second login disconnected the first, because the beta has no account selector. A community manager suggested trying a PTR account from the Starter Editions & Public Test Regions section of your Battle.net account page (Blizzard, 18 Sep 2026).

If you can't get in at all, the server status page shows whether Blizzard's login server is up, and the beta errors page reads your game's log to tell you where the login stopped.

Questions and answers

Does the Skyborne Heroic Pack include beta access?

No. Blizzard lists beta access in the Skyborne Epic Pack and the Warcraft Forever Collection, not the Heroic Pack.

When did the WoW Forever beta end?

It closed on 23 October 2026.

What is the beta's level cap?

30, since the build that went live after the 1 October maintenance. It was 20 when the beta opened.

Do my addon settings carry over from the beta to launch?

Blizzard hasn't said whether anything from the beta carries over to the live game. The live game installs into a folder of its own, World of Warcraft\_forever_, with its own WTF folder, so addons start with fresh settings there. To keep yours, copy the account-wide files you want from the beta's World of Warcraft\_classic_beta_\WTF\Account\YOUR ACCOUNT\SavedVariables into the same place under _forever_, with the game closed; per-character settings only fit if the realm and character names are the same. What ForeverDB keeps on the site (your armory and uploads) stays with your ForeverDB account, and the ForeverDB Uploader finds the live game's folder by itself.
