Warrior in WoW Forever: what the datamine says is coming

· updated · ForeverDB
The WoW Forever client and Blizzard's posts show 1 new ability and 42 new class items for Warriors. We list them all and give our read on the class.
Speculation. This outlook is built from datamined WoW Forever client data (build 1.60.1.70707) and official Blizzard posts. The beta stopped at level 30; the game launches on 4 November with the whole of 1 to 60, and anything above level 30 is untested and can change.
What Blizzard's notes changed

What levels 31 to 40 bring
The beta stopped at level 30. WoW Forever launches on 4 November with the whole game to level 60, and this is what the client has for the next ten levels, 31 to 40.

- 15 higher ranks of existing abilities also become trainable in that range.
- Talents that come into reach include Improved Hamstring, Mortal Strike, Flurry, Improved Slam, Gore Drinker, Bastion, Bloodthirst, Shield Slam.

Our read (speculation)
Much of the Warrior kit arrives between levels 22 and 30: Intimidating Shout, Execute, Challenging Shout, Shield Wall, Berserker Stance and Intercept. Levelling Warriors get a finisher and a charge that stuns, and tanks get their emergency tools. With 21 talent points, tier 5 opens, home to the one-point Sweeping Strikes, Death Wish and Concussion Blow. Tactical Mastery is already a level 14 trainer skill, with an Improved Tactical Mastery talent on top, which should make stance swapping cheaper once Berserker Stance joins the mix.
Blizzard's 24 September notes sketch where Arms and Protection are heading. Slam is a level 20 ability with a cooldown in Forever. That cooldown just went up to 18 seconds, and Improved Slam, which shortens it, now sits in the sixth row of the Arms tree, so Slam reads as a timed hit rather than a filler to spam, and a better fit for Arms than for Fury. Bloodthrill, a fifth-row Arms talent, procs twice as often, 4% to 20% across its five ranks in the client, but only from main-hand attacks, which may favour two-handers or a strong main hand. For Protection, Blizzard says Focused Rage moves ahead of Bastion to ease levelling before Shield Slam, although the current client still lists Bastion in row 5 and Focused Rage in row 6. The Sunder Armor threat correction has the same aim, a smoother levelling tank.
The client's talent tree also moves some talents. Iron Will now sits in Fury's second row, and Defiance and the new Master of Defense in Protection's third. A new Vanguard talent lets Charge work in Defensive Stance, which suggests stance limits still apply even though the client's ability data doesn't list them. Spearing Strike, a new attack in the fourth row of the Arms tree from level 25, deals extra damage to Giants, Dragonkin and mounted targets and knocks riders off their mounts, which could make it a handy world PvP tool. The Warrior-only items listed above are all level 45 or higher and mostly named after PvP ranks, so they say little about levelling.
